Question 1

Can a 3rd party or second backup camera be added for outside use?  I'm wanting a front park assist camera.

I've changed the location of the cameras so that the rear cam is on the front bumper to help with the front park assist.  I mounted the cabin cam out the back window and the front camera on the front windshield.  You may have to buy an extension cable to connect the one mounted on the back window.   But this gave me all the views I wanted, including the front park assist.   Also you might want to cover the ir lights on the cabin cam as you'll blind the camera reflecting off the back window.

If I buy 2 identical systems,can I swap the cams so I have one system with two waterproof cams/one indoor cam, and another system with 3 indoor cams?

I very much disagree with the other comments, sorry. You will not kill your battery with the hardwire kit PROPERLY installed, unless you leave the car unattended for long periods of time.

I have 2 dashcams hardwired, my father has 1 I recently bought him using the 12v adapter. This is my experience, so your mileage may vary.

My father's Wolfbox mirror cam keeps killing his battery, because his stupid car has the 12v adapter wired to always active. Most cars the 12v plug is an "accessory" wired port. Some cars with 2 12v plugs will have 1 hot and 1 accessory. I mention that because it's funny he's killing his battery without a hardwire kit for the same reason these others are likely having.

A hardware kit has 2 purposes: 1) detect the battery's voltage level so if the battery gets too low, it stops working 2) detect when you have turned the car on/off. That way it knows when to go into parking mode.

How this works is simple: One of the wires in the hardwire kit must be correctly wired to an accessory line, the other goes to an always hot line. if you screw that up, the camera never shuts off, kills your battery. Also, if you screw that up, it never enters parking mode. Depending on your camera, parking mode is different from brand to brand, model to model.

My Vantrue N2Pro has motion detection, so when I parked at work prior to Covid, that sucker would capture hundreds of 10-20s videos while I was working. Every car or person that passed in front or behind set it off. Never once had a problem with the battery.  Now during Covid, it sits in my driveway days at a time, and detects every passing car or person walking down the sidewalk. I didn't drive for weeks early on, now a few times a week. No issues.

My daughter has the Pormido 2 camera unit, hardwired, in the vehicle she used at college. So it could sit for days without being driven. When she came home from school recently, it sat on the street at least 3 weeks without getting driven. Parking mode on the Pormido is to take a snapshot every 1 or 2 secs depending on how you configured it, and record if the vehicle is hit. No issues with the battery being dead.

During parking mode, the display is off as well, so those 1 sec snapshots use minimal energy. During collision recording, I suspect it turns on for 20 secs, though I've never bothered to make it turn on to find out.

So, should you be concerned about your battery draining in less than a week? Only if you screw up the wiring of the hardwire kit. If you get it backwards, expect a dead battery within a day. That is how quickly the Wolfbox kills my dad's car via the 12v adapter.

Honestly, there is zero reason to have one of these without the hardwire kit, unless you plan to move it between vehicles on the regular.  They really should offer packing with the hardwire kit instead of the stupid 12v adapter.

can you get replacement attachment adhesive patches?

Yes.  I'm not sure if the seller will provide or sell it but 3M tape works fine.  In fact, I've used a temporary double adhesive just to make sure where I wanted to mount it before making it more permanent.
