The 4000 works well and is very quiet. It can be difficult to read the temperature and humidification register. Also, the directions that come with this product are not clear or complete. It was necessary to call the vendor to ask for assistance. The net is your counter is always wet2) the unit chimes when empty. There is no way I have found to shut this off. Customer service told me it was because the unit doesn't automatically shut off and thus this is for protection of the unit. The limited and poor instruction manual says the unit does shut off automatically.If the above is of no concern to you, I would buy the unit as it does operate well.
