A Town Called Discovery

This book was....reset....this...reset....this book was brilliant....reset. This. This was, reset. Lol. You will have to read this book to understand what that was all about. RR Haywood had this book done 3 years ago and just decided to release it. Wonder why, because it was just brilliant!!! Fast moving, time travel again from Haywood at his best. I honestly felt as if I was watching a movie of this book as I read it. So vivid! His characters were so fun! Roshi and Bear, Thomas, Dr. Lucy....just a blast. Read this in 2 days and am on to his next. If you have not read his Extraction books, make sure you do.I have his next one ready to read and so hope he decides to continue with another book in the Town Called Discovery series. Just brilliant!!!

I loved reading this, although I felt like it was a hybrid of The Undead series and The Extracted series. I must clarify that this is definitely not a criticism as I loved both! Another wonderful book. Can’t wait for the next one!

This was one of the best books I've read in a while when it came to the start. There was no "dipping your toe in the water here." You were plunged right into the story which was riveting. It had some familiar elements to it which I won't describe as they'd be spoilers, but it kept a very fresh take on them.There were a few unanswered questions as I'm sure the author is thinking about a sequel, but nevertheless it had a complete ending that didn't make you feel as though you wasted your time.

Intersecting, twisting story lines that made me want to slow down and not miss any detail, but hurry and read faster at the same time. Another example of the author's talent for taking humanity and digging in to put thoughts and emotions on paper in a way that makes the reader feel what the characters feel. R.R. Haywood always leaves me wanting more...The Undead Series, Worldship Series, Extracted Series...and possibly, Discovery series...? I can only hope!

I read The Extracted series by RR Haywood and LOVED it so when I saw this book, I thought - I GOTTA READ IT! This book was amazing and kept me up into the wee hours of the night waiting to see what happened to Bear and Reishi and I want more. I don't know if there will be a sequel, but I dang sure hope so. Please, whatever you're doing, stop right now and READ THIS BOOK!

The story starts out fast and the pace never slows. The twists and turns kept me constantly guessing. Frightening situations and intense battles had me on the edge of my seat. The highly developed characters add to a story that is very unique. I highly recommend it.

This is why Mr Haywood is so good. He writes like we think but we only show that side to those close friends of ours. He shares it with everyone and I love him for it and everything he’s done. Thank you.

If you have not tried one of RR Haywood's novels, you really should treat yourself. This one is packed with action, emotion and leaves you wondering what is happening during the initial chapters of the book.

bought this without even reading the blurb, why? Because this guy is simply one of the best writers of his generation.This is a fantastic story, heroes and heroines, and a rip roaring adventure through time. Don't wait pick it up today!!

Just what was needed during this lockdown, an adventure through time. This book was similar in style to the extracted series and couldn't be better for it!The world has stopped due to coronavirus and for me for the last few days the world has stopped for another RR haywood book.If you've read any of his other books then you know what your getting, if not then read this and let the story help you forget anything else that's going on.

Readers of RR Haywood's 'The Undead', 'Extracted', or 'Worldship Humility' series will be pleased but not surprised to find that this book (apparently just something he wrote some time ago and had hanging around!) is well up to standard.The story moves at a breakneck pace - the initial chapters a bit like 'Groundhog Day' but with a much higher body count and the hero making a bit more progress with each death and rebirth.As usual, Haywood makes you care about his characters - the elements of excitement, pathos and incidental humour are all present and more than correct.I hope this becomes a series - while the book is substantial and satisfying in itself, I want to know what the mysterious and arrogant rival town of Freedom is all about, what's going on with the Old Lady, and Roshi is playing at.Haywood devotees can buy with absolute confidence. And actually, this isn't a bad place at all for newcomers to start with the great man's work.

I love the books by RR Haywood and was excited to read his latest release. It’s not for the faint hearted there is violence galore in this book but it comes with a superb storyline. This isn’t a classic horror tale it’s also got sci fi elements. I would say partly a violent Groundhog Day, The Matrix and Mr & Mrs Smith thrown in too! This author knows how to weave a book that you don’t want to put down. His characters are real there’s always some humour even in the most dark circumstances as it is in real life. Fantastic read I hope there will be a follow up please ....

Fantastic page turner. Always highly recommend this author, since discovering him two years ago I’ve genuinely struggled to read/enjoy anyone else’s style of writing!
