Lindt EXCELLENCE 85% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar, Dark Chocolate Candy, 3.5 oz. (12 Pack)

Over the years I’ve transitioned from Hershey's dark to the Lindt 95%, but spouse wants something not quite as dark. These fit the bill. The chocolate is rich and not sweet-it takes a bit to get used to but once you do you’ll stick with these. The price is right and we buy the 12 pk to always have on hand. Versatile to enjoy plain, with PB or melt for a dip in recipes. I’ve been enjoying these since 2003 and the quality has remained excellent. We do keto and there’s roughly about 2.5 grams net carbs per small bar (7 grams net in 3 bars which they consider a serving size).

Great flavor

Very very chocolate, but not bitter. Just rich and powerful coca butter taste. If you are addicted to sugar this isn't for you. But if you want a high fat, low sugar rich chocolate that melts slowly in your mouth then buy a box, or two.

I love a bit of high percentage dark chocolate after dinner and the fact that there's such a low sugar content. I also enjoy the health benefits. The one thing that many don't realize is that high percentage cocoa in dark chocolate, percentage wise, has more caffeine than coffee (as a scientist I was aware of this, but hadn't experienced it as I had never eaten it within a few hours of bed). I have to be VERY careful eating it if I have it after a late dinner or I'll be awake most of the night. I tried the three square serving size (as a special treat) and that was too much too. I was wide awake and clear headed at 2am (it's a different caffeine feel than my espresso and coffee- more clean and no jitters). I'm going to try just one square only after earlier dinners. I'm hoping that won't be enough to disrupt my sleep as I love to eat little pieces of it and savor it after a lovely dinner when I crave a little sweet. So far only 85% has done it. I've had 70-72% before and it didn't happen, but it wasn't this brand. I also purchased the 70% in Lidnt, just in case, and it will arrive soon. If one square of the 85% proves to be too much caffeine within a few hours of bedtime, I'll switch to 70% and save the 85% for earlier or when I need to wake up lol. I don't often want even low sugar sweets during the day. I do prefer the 85% flavor, but losing sleep negates health benefits and the joy of enjoying the treat. I will update after trying this brand of 70%. I wish the 85% could taste exactly the same, have the health benefits, but be low caffeine or decaffeinated without losing benefits as I do prefer the low sugar, higher cocoa percentage flavor much better!

This strong dark chocolate is really tasty, not bitter at all. I normally eat a square early in the day. Otherwise I can’t sleep. It is on the list of chocolates having well above the lead and cadmium levels considered safe. I would never feed it to children but I’m a senior so I really don’t worry too much. A safer option would be Ghirardelli intense which I also like. I alternate them. It doesn’t contain bourbon or vanilla beans as stated on this website. It’s made in New Hampshire. I bought the 85%.

I was craving dark chocolate and Carmel which is high in calories I then switched to Lindt dark and I gave up the dark chocolate Carmel for the Lindt less calories and no chocolate craving I’m loving my Lindt

Love this 85% dark chocolate!! 85% or better has health benefits if 85% or higher, but 85% doesn't taste too dry. One serving is 3 nice size pieces per serving which is plenty, I usually eat only 2 pieces. Much cheaper than what the stores sell it for. In the Phoenix, Arizona area they only deliver between the months of October to maybe March or April because of the heat here. So I'll stock up again before the window closes.

It takes time to require the taste. Cost can be a negative.
