Sybex is the Best!
Sybex always has the best books for Technical Certification Preparation. The book is well layed out according to the exam criteria. The level of detail goes deeper than needed for the exam which helps you gain overall confidence.I was able to pass with an 890 and never had to open the Azure console (but did use the sandbox on the Microsoft Leaning site)Online materials were amazing especially the practice exams and chapter question revies.

Passed my exam!
I used this book when studying for the AZ-900. I enjoyed it, it was easy to follow. Not dull like other cert books I’ve read through.

Azure Fundamentals Study Guide is Excellent
The Azure Fundamentals Study Guide is excellent. It provides a quick overview without spending too much time on trivial details while provide excellent coverage of the important details. One small problem is that Sybex limits copying content. This is regrettable because it consumes time replicate content in notes, like comments on why a review question response is correct.

Solid Study Guide for AZ-900
I have been an AWS technologist for about 10 years (30+ in software overall), and recently took a role where the company uses Azure. To come up to speed as quickly as possible, I am studying for key certifications, and I wanted a book to cut down my learning time. After looking at various options online, I chose this book. When it arrived in the mail, I was skeptical. It was pretty thin at ~170 pages of content. I was afraid I had made a mistake; however, after reading it, I found it to be a clear, well-written, and informative text. The author (Jim Boyce) explains the essential concepts with good examples and simple but useful diagrams. The questions at the end of each chapter are relevant and help highlight the most important material. The book includes 2 practice exams (I haven't taken them yet, so can't attest to their quality) and electronic flashcards.I think the book is a good choice for anyone wanting a compact (but by no means flimsy), clear walkthrough of Azure essentials with an eye towards taking and passing the AZ-900 exam. The only downside is that book contains a few typos, e.g., SLQ vs. SQL. While this turns me off a little bit, I need to lay blame at the feet of the editor and publisher (Sybex) and not the author. All in all, these few typos do not detract from the usefulness of the book.

You can pass with this guide!
I studied using the online exam practices included with the book and was able to pass reviewing that alone! Do be sure to study things like storage and governance really well as I felt the review didn't feel like it covered those details enough.
