Good value for a hammer drill.
We recently downsized. Unfortunately, I gave up my Skil hammer drill. A couple of months later I needed a hammer drill. So, I bought this one on Amazon. I made about 11 4-6 inch holes in concrete with a Bosch 1/2 inch bit ( Bosch HCK005 5-Piece S4L SDS-plus Rotary Hammer Drill Bit Set ). Everything went in smoothly. I also needed to screw in some regular screws (approximately 2 1/2 inches) into some 4 x 4's. It was not as easy as my cordless drill is. However, my cordless drill was powerless at the time. So, I thought I would see how the variable speed worked. It is ok, but not great. It is hard to set a long screw without a variable speed drill. I was able to do it, but I had to use a guide on the bit to keep it from jumping out of the screw. Also, the bit became stripped. I also drilled some 1/2 holes into the 4/4 with another bit. All went smoothly. I was in a hurry to use my drill. I had no problem adding the second handle. I was also happy with the keyless chuck. I could not easily figure out how to get the depth gauge to work. However, I was not doing precision work; so, that was OK. Perhaps, I will read the directions some day. Happy with my purchase. This works well as a drill or a hammer drill. It works OK as a screw driver.

Surprised, I was!
I read a few reviews about this hammer drill and was still skeptical. I received it and went to work on a concrete wall. To my surprise, it is a powerful little tool. I have only done 5/32 and 3/8 holes but it has not disappointed me. The depth adjustment tool seemed a little flimsy but proved to be strong once tightened down. Overall it's a great drill and I would recommend it for home use. This is not by any means a professional drill but will get the job done at home and actually would not be surprised if it could handle some heavier jobs. Worth every penny!

Great, if you're right handed and use the metric system.
For me, this drill worked great. Unlike others, I found the grip comfortable, and aside from the chuck lock being recessed and hard to press, that also worked fine for me. It's an inexpensive drill, so one would expect a lot of problems with it. That's not the case. The only thing I hate is the depth stop and auxiliary handle. First of all, the scale printed on it is metric. The world may use that system, and I use it occasionally, but it's inconvenient to stop and calculate how many cm a 3-1/4" lag bolt is. Also, the depth stop is pretty far away from the drill bit, so it's difficult to gauge how much it is offset. Second, the depth stop locking mechanism is difficult. You have to unscrew the handle, and push or pull to allow the stop to be adjusted. It tends to get stuck, so you usually have to completely unscrew the handle and jiggle it to free the depth stop. Lastly, if you're left-handed and want the aux. handle on the right side, (meaning your left hand is at 6:00 and your right hand is at 3:00), you can't do it without removing or fully extending the depth stop. When it's retracted, the stop hits the housing well before the handle is at 3:00.. This means left hand is at 6:00 and right hand is at 1:00, which is incredibly awkward and uncomfortable.

That is fine with me
I used this to drill for about 75 prox Tapcon screws for stud walls that I put up in my basement. The drill worked well for my needs. However, when I removed the drill bit when I was done, the chuck unscrewed from the drill housing. I was able to remove the drill from the chuck and reinstall the chuck onto the drill, but will always have this issue. I knew going in that this was at the bottom of choices available; you get what you pay for. It has served my needs, I may need to use this sometime in the future and will have to struggle with what it is. That is fine with me.

Good value for money
Finally, I was able to put up some shelves that needed mounting.since we moved some time ago with relative ease. I was able to drill the necessary holes in the concrete wall with surprising ease. This drill is compact, perfectly useable and exerts a decent amount of force. It gets the job done. The size is smaller than some of the clunky drills that are too hard to use for a lot of women. You don't need a key to change drill bits either. Good value for money. I hope it proves durable.

Great drill!
I bought this drill because I was building a garden shed and needed to put anchor bolts into an existing concrete foundation. This drill did the trick! It was like drilling into butter, it worked so well. One note, in reference to the other reviewer, this drill does have a switch on top that allows you to choose between high speed or high torque. Also, the trigger allows for variable speed, though that only works as well as your finger for control. As mentioned in the other review, the keyless chuck makes this tool very easy to use. And the drill is fairly light so you don't feel your arms cramping up after using it for a while. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase!

Worked great and got the small job done fast and efficiently. I got mason drill bits with flat angled shafts, maybe that helped. Price is right. You can pay somebody to have the pro tools or buy this, do it yourself and have a nice tool for later. Not sure why there are reviews that say the product is not good. Highly recommend for small home improvement jobs.

Both the drill and hammer function work well for me. I've had this for almost a year and had no problems with it. I even abused it once by using it as a driver for some high torque applications - it started smoking but still continues to function with no discernible loss of capability. The chuck-less design is also nice.

Not working for hammer drill. The drill bit cannot be fastened. when used as hammer function, drill bit will go into chuck, too loose.

only complaint, the handle has some broken plastics when arrived. I wish they inspect the product before sending it to customers. this unit does not come with storage box, so if you really need the box, you may need to consider another product. I drilled some holes, and it works great as expected. it is a bit flimsy because it has too many plastic parts that can break but you get what you paid for.

the torque is too great for keyless chuck... it cannot be held with other hand and can easily burn your hand. cover with cloth everytime... but cannot beat price
