Very good quality tool
A very good value for money, flexible pool cleaning grains and gutterings with a very good high quality performance and fits down most drains with no problems. Extreme flexibility. And these rods are fantastic for cleaning our gutters and all and other things that may get blocked or get stuck on your roof and you can get other attachments that you can clean out your chimneys and other things

Simple idea for locking rods but very effective once you get the knack of it.
Very good rods, nice and flexible. I struggled to join the rods initially, but found the quickest and easiest way is to lay the rods, to be joined, flat on the floor. Then, holding the female end of a rod, insert the male part and using the knurled section turn clockwise to just start the joint. Then hold further back on the male ended rod and if you can turn the rod you know you are not yet screwed in far enough and the ends are not aligned. Keep screwing in the knurled section, a bit at a time, whilst holding the female ended rod, and checking if you can rotate the male rod. Once you have screwed in far enough and you are properly aligned you wil not be able to turn the male rod. Then screw the knurled section right up and the joint is complete. A little WD40 or equivalent, sprayed on the threads helps too. I found this method quicker and far easier than trying to hold the rods in the air at different angles. Of course it won't always be possible to lay the rods flat, but if you can't, try to keep both rods to be joined as parallel as possible and you should be ok. Hope this helps.

Locking drain rods
Wanted rods that locked together to use with a similar borrowed set to push through a long run between 3 properties and they connected together fine, albeit borrowed set had a nut not a knurled grip a few drops of oil made it a bit easier to connect together (have to jiggle the rods when tightening together to get them fully screwed up and don't be tempted to use if not fully screwed together as just asking for trouble) even fitted to the old brass ended set I had to borrow as unfortunately 2 sets still came up short. I checked that All rivet pins where in position before using as some reviews said they had issues, also checked afterwards and all still OK. Rods Not as heavy as the existing sets but still appear robust enough for future home use. Been in this property 16 years and this was first drain issue so Let's hope they are still as good next time we need them if ever. Still cheaper though to DIY compared to calling out a specialist but I have experience of drains and it's not for everyone and novices need to realise deep manholes (if your head is below ground) are not without their hazards IE methane and are best left to the experts. Also if you are rodding up line remember all that trapped waste will be eventually heading your way so plan ahead to make your escape or suffer the consequences.... conclusion did what I needed them to do and survived for another day also let them dry fully before packing away especially if it could be a while before they are reused or you could find all the locking mechanisms sized up. I recommend a few more drops of oil after drying before putting them back into the plastic storage bag provided.

Good value but not very sturdy
These bend in the middle very easily. 2 of my rods now have kinks in them and I've only used them once The locking joins are an excellent idea but I found them to be a bit fiddly. I will get used to it though. Overall a good product and did the job.

Rubbish and poor quality
Kinda like a copy made by Poundland tbh. Sorry but hardly suitable nor durable. No strength in rodding

Poor quality, bad design. 2 snapped at the joints.
These are very poor quality and unless you are doing very straight drains or gutters, I would look elsewhere.Let me explain: They are marketed as "robust, durable and flexible" yet the plastic hollow pipe is fastened with a single rivit that goes in to the metal connector. There are 2 rivits, but one holds the screw mechanism. The pipe itself is only held on by one. This one rivit goes all the way through the plastic, so there is a single hole right at the bottom of the metal connector which provides a weak point. If the metal had extended down way past this rivit, this would have provided support and strength, but it doesn't.To cut a long story short, I have a blocked drain (I still do) so I took the lid off the inspection hatch and started feeding the rods down. Now I'm stood above the drain so the rods are being forced to bend at a gentle 60' angle as I push them down and in to the horizontal drain. 2 of the rods snapped at the join. One snapped as I was pushing it in, the other snapped as I was taking it out - luckily, I could still see it, so I climbed in to the drain pit and pulled it out with my hands. Otherwise it would have been a disaster.Furthermore, once they have got dirty and wet, the screw fitting is almost impossible to undoe without using mole grips or pliers. So if I were you, I'd look elsewhere.Pictures attached so you can see the break.Hope that helps you decide!!

saved my bacon
Decent rods, saved my ass from a backed up downpipe. I had to pre-bend the end of one to get it to go round the 90 degree bend but it did it - was not able to use the little attachments as they are quite big for a small pipe, they are ideal for ground pipes.

Parece buen material, resistente y flexible.
