If you buy Johnston & Murphy these shoes are everything you expect from them. The shoes are true to (my) size and comfortable right out of the box. I caught these on sale making the purchase even easier.

The shoe looks different out of the box. It is not shiny and you would need to polish it to make it look the ones in the photo on the website. They feel a little narrow in the toes(edit: after wearing them a big they don't seem so narrow anymore. They'd probably be fine for most people.) and I have narrow feet, so if you have wide feet, I'm not sure how these will fit, but it's still worth a try. They look good and go with everything. They have a casual look, but the leather makes them look less casual than other shoes in this style. They go great with dockers.

Second time purchase. Wore previous pair nicely for over a year. Comfortable and stylish. Wear well. Got wet several times but recovered well. Wore on a round the world cruise. Great for walking on hardwood decking.

According to my husband who is extremely picky about a shoe as it can easily be uncomfortable for him no matter of quality and price this is an incredibly comfortable pair of shoes.I decided to spend the money and get these shoes for him because of the troubles he has finding good shoes to fit his comfort expectations. He absolutely loved them and got compliments on them that he wore them daily for work 12 hours shifts at night for a desk job and when going out on days off.After a few days of daily wearing them he developed a blister on the back of one foot. I thought maybe he wore other shoes in between and those could have caused the blister. I can also assume that the long shifts my husband does having the shoes on could make the feet sweat a bit and the little walking at break times and moving around a bit during his shifts could definitely cause blisters no matter what shoes one wears.So, in summary, the shoes are amazingly comfortable and my husband loves them and the blister could have been caused by the long shifts he has shoes on, but it can also be due to the the height in the back of the shoes rubbing just at the wrong point. Because of the price and this blister caused I give the shoes 4 stars, but keep in mind all my notes here.

I have not worn anything else to work since I got these. J&M make incredible footwear, and this is a fine addition to their reputation.

These are comfortable thanks to sheepskin material. If these shoes were made from other material, they'd probably fit too tight for my wide feet. When putting these shoes on, I can visually see my feet are wide stretching the sides. Hopefully these shoes do hold up considering my feet are wide for this fit.

Poor quality. Just another brand that sold out to Chinese production in order to maximize profit. What else is new?!
