A must read before making any decisions
You will learn what you need to know about Endometriosis. Your current doctor may not even know as much as you'd know about the disease, after reading this book. It's written to general public. The language and the tone is very friendly. It can be a little depressing to read edge cases and if you're like me you'll find yourself reading tons about what the book is referring to. It wasn't a fun ride for me learning about the details in this book, and I couldn't stop myself thinking a lot about the condition. But somebody has to do it; if it's not your current doctor then it'll be you until finding a specialist. There are very good advice in the book. One of them is diet change. Being gluten free is almost a must with this condition. Inflammation from gluten sensitivity aggregates the side effects by possibly feeding the scar tissue internally. It's a hormonal problem but it builds up over the years. So does gluten sensitivity results. Dairy, is another thing to be stay away from. When it comes to surgery options you'll face most of the doctors offering laparoscopy with laser (heated devices). This part, my friends, is to me the most important part of the book. I would have no clue about questioning the surgery techniques. Why would I, right? Doctors would know the best. Hmm, read what it does to you when a heated device touched our organs and the endometrial scar tissue. If you can, watch the videos of Dr. Seçkin; in medical conferences he explains why cold scissors are used v.s. high energy devices (i.e. laser).Bottom line is, what I leaned from this book came with a timely manner. I didn't think I may need a surgery within a year but I'm now in a month away. If you can go visit Dr. Seçkin in his downtown NY office. Thanks for reading and all the best.

Informative
As someone who has been dx with endo, this is a great book to help one understand this disease and that there are ways to treat the symptoms. Great book to give to newly diagnosed endo warriors.

**MUST HAVE BOOK FOR ANYONE SUFFERING WITH ENDOMETRIOSIS**
Finally a well written informative book that explains what Endometriosis is, the best treatments, & very detailed candid patient accounts. I could not put this book down! It is very easy to read and understand and I love the way the book flowed seamlessly from chapter to chapter. I cried all the way through reading it in relief that there is a specialist out there that really knows what he is talking about when it comes down to Endometriosis. Dr. Sekin doesn’t just explain what Endometriosis is he takes you on a journey of his many patients and how they have lived with this debilitating disease. He gives very detailed and candid patient accounts of how he successfully treated them and candidly explained how a patient’s surgery took a turn for the worst but the end result was a very happy one. He reassures you of his knowledge and experience. This book is a must have for any woman suffering with Endo. Give it to family and friends to read to raise awareness and to help them understand what you are going through. Some people think you look ok but have no idea!! Read this and get comfort from it like I have - "It is NOT in your head!"

I nodded in agreement, I cried because I understood the pain, and I learned so much about endo
I have been researching so much about endometriosis since I had an emergency surgery caused by a tubo-ovarian abscess which was ultimately likely caused by my endometriosis. I decided to start the endo diet as best as could, and to look into surgery. This book has equipped me with so much knowledge, from being more aware of how the disease cripples other women to being armed with the right kind of questions to ask my next doctor. I know I will eventually get another laparoscopy but this time I know that I cannot go to just any doctor and that I need to be sure that the dr practices dep excision surgery. This book has taught me so much and presented so many different cases of women whom have the disease. If you or a loved one of yours has heavy periods, intense pain surrounding menstrual cycles, leg pain, IBS symptoms, nausea, chronic fatigue, and you suspect that you or she might have endometriosis, get this book to allow yourself to be more aware of the disease. Great read for husbands, parents, children of a woman who might have the disease.

This book changed my life
After being told they found Endo during my Laparoscopy, they never explained what it was or what it meant and why I was in the pain I was. This book changed my life. It explains and answers all the questions I have. I better understood my condition, realised it was not okay to be told it is in my head or its my "anxiety" I realised that it is not okay to have the amount of pain I am in. My partner even has read the book and has been helping fight for me to get better care and it is crazy to think my partner has more knowledge on my condition then my own drs all thanks to this book. Feel they should make it mandatory for all drs to read this book.

If you want to know about endo, just go for it.
This book delves into every little nuance of endometriosis. If you or your loved ones are suffering from Endo and related complications, it is a good book to go for.If you are overwhelmed by the amount of information you are finding out via the Internet and you want an simple abridged version of this disease, this is the book to go for.It is a good read to understand the what why how or any other questions you have about Endo.It is easy to understand, very very insightful.Written by Dr Tamer, a endometriosis specialist who performs deep excision. It has details about symptoms, stories of other women who are in a similar predicament (treated by Dr Tamer). In the book, Dr Tamer swears deep excision is the most effective way to remove endometrioma (as opposed to abalation)There is honest information about if bc pills work, if hysterectomy is the cure, etc etc, which doctors in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh, India) swear work.Thank you amazon for making this book a available. It arrived in pristine condition. The book has good quality paper and print. The print font size is comfortable to read as well.Me as a novice trying to find answers for my problems found this to be a well of information.

I felt like throwing this book away as soon as finished I ...
I felt like throwing this book away as soon as I finished reading it simply because I'm not rich and can't afford to travel to New York to see Dr. Seckin. This book provides you with the sympathetic ear and information you wish you could have had years ago from the many doctors you have already seen. That's why it is equally depressing. I don't expect to ever see a doctor like him when in fact it is so often completely opposite where you leave an office feeling like it is all in your mind or that your problem takes a huge back seat to cancer or pregnancy, so why complain? This book is like reading an informative, interactive study guide that holds your hand through the test but ultimately the teacher you're dealing with marks the outcome of your exam.

Must Read if you or your acquaintance suffers from endometriosis in India
My mother suffers from endometriosis and there is no end to her suffering. Books like this are rarely available in countries like India where this disease is diagnosed very late. As there are hardly any books around this subject I cannot compare but reading this book definitely gave my mother some peace of mind that she is not imagining the symptoms. I could also relate well to what my mother endures each day. I wish there could be more books like this which could help women of developing nations. I am still figuring out if I could find some specialist for my mother like this book recommends.
