BerghausMen's RG Alpha 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket with Removable Fleece

At 6ft5, I usually struggle to find a jacket that is long enough in the body but this is spot on in the XXL. The coat and fleece are individually of excellent quality and together feel like a great weatherproof addition to the wardrobe. The fleece also has zipped pockets which I wasn’t expecting, glad to see Berghaus didn’t seem to sacrifice any functionality with the individual coat and fleece. This seems like a top waterproof choice at a great price.

This is rain proof with a fold away hood. There’s a detachable fleece inside for when extra warmth needed. The quality is brilliant as expected with Berghaus products.

About 20 years ago I bought a Berghaus 3-in-1. May have been the Gemini Alpha 1.0, not sure but it looked very much like this one. That coat remains the best winter coat I have ever owned. Incredibly warm, gore-tex fully rain and wind-proof, beautiful quality, thick and generous zip-in fleece included, map pocket plus plenty of other pockets, detachable heavy-duty hood. I ended up giving that coat to someone as a gift. So now I ordered this one thinking it might be the same. I'm prepared to admit that the equivalent quality now might be pricier, as that last coat was £200 back in around 2002. This one is a kind of cheaper-made approximation of that one. It is not gore-tex (I found out after ordering), the included fleece, while nice, is about a third as thick. There is no detachable hood (only a thin hood stuffed in the collar), the map pocket and inside pockets have gone (except the one in the fleece). And in general the coat, though I'm sure a serviceable rain coat, is not the invincible powerhouse the old one was, not by a long shot. I'm now in the process of finding out, from Berghaus, whether they now have a different invincible powerhouse (possibly the Ridge-Seeker?) that I have not yet identified.

Very nice comfortable jacket that has a fleece inside too which makes it warmer , it’s definitely waterproof as I’ve had it on in this awful rain we’ve had, I would buy again

Great jacket

It's a great coat/jacket. Warmer than my North Face 3 skin anyway. This is a tighter fit though & wasn't sure whether to size up, may regret not doing so but wanted a tighter fit. I'm 5'10 & 15/7 stone bought XL. Go XXL if you don't want a tight fit, top jacket though. Can't fault the quality & actually has inside pockets when worn as a 3.

This was a steal at £59. Very warm and waterproof. I agree that it's best to go a size up if you are wearing both layers. Great buy

Nice looking jacket , bought for walking at the beach. Good wind resistance light to wear. Have not tested waterproofing. Down side is because it has a removable fleece as a lining ,there is no inside pockets.
