No it doesn't have a threaded crown. It is just a straight forward pull out and push back in.

How long is the guarantee on this watch?

I believe this came through the WatchNation store on Amazon. They are an authorised UK dealer for Seiko and as such can offer a 2 year international guarantee. They have a 'bricks and mortar' shop in Chester and I have brought from them directly too, really nice people, very friendly and professional. If you have the watch directly supplied by Amazon though, they are not an authorised dealer, so you will not get a Seiko guarentee, best you can expect is 12 months but do check with them. It's a great watch btw.
