Is the board made out of hardwood that could line your floors? No. Are the pieces made out of a rare crystal you could use in an engagement ring? No. Would you proudly take this set to face Beth Harmon in a tournament of champions? Probably not. But I could have, and almost did, buy several cardboard sets and plastic pieces for more than what I paid for this. Although you can tell it's cheaper material, it's shockingly good quality for what you would expect given the price and the fact that everything is made out of wood. If you had this sitting out or if you played on it with a friend, they would have no clue you got it for so cheap. I also love the way it folds and stores the pieces, making it convenient and pretty neat to have for the occasional, casual chess game. Needless to say, I looked at quite a few sets before finding this one and they were almost all more expensive and/or made out of materials that would make them annoying to play on. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cheap, solid chess board!

I ordered this set twice. The first time it has one missing pawn piece. Attempted to communicate with the seller with zero success. I wanted to get the missing piece without returning. I guess it was some drop-ship business and they never responded. Returned the defective set and reordered. The second one came in the same packaging but the pieces were slightly larger and of higher grade. No missing pieces on the second order. Was very pleasantly surprised by the larger pieces, even though they point to inconsistent manufacturing pracrices.

It does the job. All piece are there, decent enough for a cheap set. The board does have a couple chips, a couple of the pieces have defects. One knight is a bit deformed and a king has a bit of a curved bottom.We got it just to have a little fun and teach our daughter, so it doea its job

At first my board came with a missing black pawn piece and I was pretty frustrated, but after reaching out to the seller they resolved my problem and sent me a few extra pieces on top of my missing pawn piece. Overall the board isn’t the most quality board you can get, but for the price it gets the job done.

My kid plays in chess and I bought this Chess Board Professional to encourage him to play more. Overall it is a good board but the surface rip off easily. And it is very disappointing.

We recently bought this set for my 9 and 6 year old boys. They love the size of the wooden playing pieces and the portability is fantastic. The kids are learning positions from the letter and numbers on the side of the board. The only slight critique we have is the board is very thin so you must be careful not to put much weight on the board. Perfect price and came quickly

This arrived missing a piece (white pawn). It's true you get what you pay for. This was an inexpensive set, and it shows in the lack of quality assurance. We had to use a bottle cap for the missing piece. I do not recommend this product or this seller.

The product is lightweight but very durable. It's a very good starter set for all ages. It's compact enough if you want to take it on vacation but not too small that people who have some dexterity issues would have a problem. The pieces are not magnetic.

I bought this chess set for family game night.Firstly, I love that it’s made all out of wood. I also like that the board folds in half for easy storage. All of the chess pieces are very well-made and carved out of wood. I know that this will be a set that my family will be able to enjoy for years to come!Overall, I highly recommend this chess set!

Just had this delivered and for the money I'm very happy with the product. Great for the kids learning how to play whilst their younger sister is around...

The chess set was returned by the carrier since somewhere it was damaged. That was really BAD

Overall you get what you pay for. A very good budget, lightweight, wooden chess set. The actual chess pieces are poorly carved
