I'm so amazed about the Japanese Love Poems Game. I like this movie because theJapanese history is so different and unique. I like twist at the end of the movie. This is a romantic action movie that I enjoy watching.

Just Shy of Awesome
I’m still trying to get a handle on Detective Conan as this is only the third movie in the Case Closed series I’ve seen. What I do know is that a 16 year old detective named Shinichi (Jimmy) Kudo was given a poison that shrunk him down to appear as an even YOUNGER detective. He then renamed himself Conan Edogawa to hide his true identity. I was very confused when 16 year old Shinichi appeared in Sunflowers of Inferno but this turned out to be Kid the Phantom Thief in disguise. In this movie, Shinichi seems to show up again but it’s actually another character named Heiji, who bears a striking similarity to Shinichi. Heiji didn’t appear in Sunflowers, thus my confusion. I think my continuing confusion is due to the huge number of reoccurring characters in the series.Something that really confused me was several bombings that were performed by a character who was either dressed 100% in black or was literally black everywhere except his eyes and mouth. One might assume this was the villain in disguise except this was the exact same bomber that appeared in Sunflowers of the Inferno. At the time, I assumed it was the main villain in disguise although the bomber looked and acted nothing like the villain. Now it seems to be a reoccurring character who bombs things and places that help the main villain. I’m both baffled and intrigued. One of the problems I have is that the plot of the movie centers around Karuta, a Japanese card game that I never heard of and don’t understand. This is a film that is clearly made for a Japanese audience. There is a lot to like about this series including the animation, music and overall tone but the plots are continually overly complicated. I wrote in my review of Sunflowers of Inferno that the series was on probation and I was still deciding whether to continue to invest my time and money. I preordered another movie but I’m still on the fence. I’m really fascinated to learn more about the characters, particularly the mysterious bomber.

Enjoyable But Not The Best Conan Feature
This entry is built around a Japanese card game, starting with the murder of a player prior to a planned tournament and going from there, with bomb threats and a few red herrings thrown into the mix. Someone seemingly does not want the event to go off as planned. As usual the centerpiece is a massive action sequence -- this time with Conan trapped on top of a doubly-bombed building which is ablaze and on the verge of collapsing. There's also a similar action sequence in the conclusion.I will admit I didn't figure out who the person behind the bombings was.Worth the watch, but DARKEST NIGHTMARE still ranks at the top of my Conan watch list.

Detective Conan
This is the best movie, out of the 3 recent American titles that were released: they go by their original names in the films, no Jimmy, Richard, or Hartley, and the voice actors are completely different, I don't know if any of them returned to help this project.

Another Slam Dunk Conan Movie
I pre-ordered this and then saw it was available on Amazon videos way before its physical release, but hung in there because i really wanted a "forever physical" version. Glad i waited, but at the same time, it was a slow burn of a wait and pure torture. Love me some new dubbed Case Closed/Conan.The Crimson Love Letter follows Conan as he tries to unsolve multiple explosions occurring in and around a building where a televised card game tournament is taking place. It is hard to describe the card game in itself, and I at times had a bit of trouble following. I don't think there is a US equivalent version to this game, and i can't even imagine what it would be like if they tried and Americanized the card came to be US centric for the film. They kept everything Japanese. The plot involves a love triangle (of course), a misunderstanding, a plot twist, and BIG reveals (as always). I have noted this previously that the new English dubb cast is doing a great job. Some actors do sound the same. I miss the Funimation dubb and wish they had American names. This movie has a lot of characters. When the big reveal occurs, the Japanese names are used and i got a bit confused as to whether they were referring to a street name, building name, town location, etc. I had to watch it over to really soak it in. Because the big reveal is thrown off for me, i didn't get the WOW FACTOR that i always get when the big reveal happens. The animation here is slightly better than Zero the Enforcer (movie). That movie had serious anatomy and quality issues with the artwork, but i digress. The set is really barebones. Just the movie and the special features are some trailers. However, i am so thankful to Discotek for continually releasing new Case Closed movies. I own the original 5 films dubbed by Funimation and love them of course. So happy to add more to my collection. Not sure why they couldn't get the original cast back. Please pick this up and support them. We need more Detective Conan. Discotek, please dubb the TV show starting right where Funimation left off. Pretty please!
