Works great. Needs tuning, as any new carb does.
If you install this with out tuning it may or may not run correctly. Both mine and a friends needed tuning. We're pretty close to sea level in maryland. Both crf50s are bone stock. Fresh gas, fuel line and fuel filter installed when replacing the carb. What i did to tune. Turn idle up using the top brass screw to where it sounds like you're holding the throttle to about 1/8-1/4 open. Adjust lower brass air/fuel screw to find where it runs the smoothest. 1/8-1/4 turn at a time and wait a few seconds before turning more. Dont bottom out the screw with any force just enough to know youre fully in for reference. Mine came set to 1.5 turns out. Ended with 3.25 turns out on both bikes. The needle clip in the throttle slide where the throttle cable connects was on second to bottom slot. Had a slight hesitation when snapping throttle and cruising at 1/4 throttle on my bike and moved clip to bottom clip slot but made it worse. Put clip in middle slot on needle then throttle was responsive and 1/4 throttle hesitation was gone. Then repeated the elevated idle air/fuel screw adjustment previously explained. Runs perfect now. No hesitation anywhere. Idles great. Starts right up.There are other ways to tune a carbed bike but on these little ones this is all I do. If you have an exhaust or different filter set up or at a much higher elevation you may need to swap jets. Hope this helps someone.

Leaks Right Out of the Box - Faulty Float Valve
I should have dug deeper into the reviews, I figured a 4-star average was pretty good. Wrong. As others have stated, the float valve does not seal worth a lick. I stuck the overflow tube in an empty wine bottle and it filled the wine bottle halfway in 30 minutes with the overflow screw completely closed. I took the carb apart and monkeyed with it to no avail. The old Q-Tip as drill bit with polish in the valve seat trick didn't even help, even though the valve needle looked ok.Although the bike started fine, as others have also stated, it's also nearly impossible to find a proper tune, leak aside. Revs too high, or dies, oscillating between these two conditions every 15 seconds or so.The float valve seat is super critical on a carb this small - this one ain't happenin!Worthless hunk of metal.

Worked perfectly
Started first kick after I put this in, I did mess with the fuel screw a bit the idle was a little high, but if you’re able to replace a carb the idle is not an issue at all. Great product for the money!

The bike runs and idles great and my son rode it for about an hour ...
I just got this carb today to replace the old one on my sons Honda CRF50. I took a chance on this as there were no reviews but it was only $9.99 so I thought I would try it. I installed it tonight and it only took about 20 minutes. One thing I noticed is that the throttle slide that goes into the carb on this was brass where the one I was replacinh had a plastic one. It came with an overflow hose attached and the manual choke lever, throttle cap/slide and spring and screw top with a rubber boot for the throttle cable. It also came with a clear tube to replace what I think is the tank vent tube although I did not use it.After the install I was very impressed as it started on the second kick. I did not have to adjust the idle or anything! The bike runs and idles great and my son rode it for about an hour with no problems. It starts on the first kick unless he let's the bike fall on its side then it floods a little but I can start it with only two or three kicks.Very impressed with my $10 investment! I will update if I begin having problems.

work OK
used a few of these - they seem to work OK - sometimes they leak a bit - need bowl gasket reseated or needle and seat tweaking - wish they came with a bent cable entry on cap, they would fit better.

Not a good value at any price.
Carburetor float valve does not seal. No apparent way to adjust the float level. Also screw for choke butterfly was apparently loose. Bike ran for a time but flooded due to faulty float valve. Then, to add insult to injury, the choke butterfly screw came out and lodged in the intake valve seat. This eliminated compression and the ability of the engine to run. Had to take the head off to remove the scew to restore compresssion. Replaced and secured the screw. Carb still leaks from faulty float valve. Bottom line, got what I paid for, a shodily built / inspected carburetor. Cheap but time consuming lesson. Only a cheap lesson because I was able to do the work myself.
