It's better than paying for a cheap $3 one and have it not work and spend more money buying something else again. I heard you need primer before spackling, and this one comes with both primer and spackle so it was a plus for me. It was easy to use as there as steps behind the package, especially for a first timer like me. I only tore of a small thin later of drywall so I really only needed a teaspoon sized worth of spackle - so I'll save the self-adhesive patch and remaining spackle for the next worst case scenario - but because I needed to little, I wish they gave a smaller putty knife. The putty knife was so big that the spackle kept dropping off and I couldn't get the spackle on the wall.
