I painted this on the seams and it works like a champ
I have a fiberglass and gunite pool that leaks where they meet. I painted this on the seams and it works like a champ! Brushed the seam areas and rolled the other areas to use it all. Next year I am going to drain and paint the entire pool to seal the leaks for good. I highly recommend this product for leaking pools like mine. It was fun to play with the dried rubber paint left in the roller pan and am thinking of other ways to use this in my Halloween projects. It does take a week to fully cure but is elastic enough to take some punishment. This is MUCH better than a spray rubber in a can if you have to do a large area and rolls out smooth and paints smoother with a brush. Short nap roller works well but is about 1 mil thick, paint brush is as thick as you want up to about 10mils.

Does the job nicely
I put this on the roof of my '92 Toyota RV. The roof had been leaking with some holes in the aluminum shin. I patched the holes and after washing and a light sanding, applied the liquid rubber across the whole roof. Two gallons did the job. It took a few days to dry as it was not very warm, late fall in San Diego. So a year later, it is a little dirty looking, but no leaks and I expect it to be trouble free for at least a few years. The coating is quite flexible and seems to bond well to the aluminum, so I'm happy.

A stinky chore to apply, but beautiful results when finished.
I have a 12 year old camper with an EPDM rubber roof.Over the years the rubber has become a bit worn, and developed a fine checkering,or alligatoring and some minor leaks. After reading up on roof coatings, I bought this. I removed the old sealant around the vents, and replaced the old corroding vent and skylight screws with stainless screws that were a quarter inch longer and added stainless washers.I rubbed a little urethane sealant to the screw threads so when I tightened the screws a little sealant squeezed up around the screw heads which I smoothed down.I prepped the roof by washing with orange cleaner and a car brush. After it dried,I wiped the roof with rubbing alcohol and some old,but clean underwear.Mixing this stuff was a little tricky.I used a drill with a stirring attachment to mix in the purple catalyst. The product has a consistency akin to honey. I used a coarse brush and small short-nap roller to apply. It was a lot of work, and I had to go over every area several times to get good coverage.I was very liberal with the amount I used.Over the next few days, the liquid rubber kind of went nuts with appearing/disappearing bubbles and wrinkles, which would have freaked me out if I hadn't been warned that this was normal. After a number of days, it finished curing. Note that liquid rubber is so thick that I needed to hold the can between my feet while stirring so the can wouldn't spin. It also needs to be used in a very well-ventilated area as it is quite stinky when applied.Count on tossing out the used brushes and rollers. The finished product is absolutely beautiful and smooth with a slick ultra white appearance.I will get back to you if any durability issues arise.Incidentally, you have only a several hour long window to apply liquid rubber, once it is mixed.

Worth the price!
I applied Liquid Rubber 3 days ago and all I can say is I am glad I went with this coating, and not a cheaper alternative. It remained tacky for about 24 hours, but once it thoroughly dry it looks (and feels) like it will last many years. I applied it to an aluminum RV roof, and it made an ugly, dirty roof something I can now be proud of. It really had to add a bit to the resale value of the RV. From what I can see, nothing can penetrate this coating, weather-wise. Of course you can poke a hole in it with a sharp object, but what roof coating can withstand that abuse. As far as application, I ordered 3 gallons on my 21 ft. motorhome, and only used a little over one gallon. I put it on pretty thick, but still didn't use anywhere as much as what the company states the coverage is. I put down a second coat on the seams. Since my roof is aluminum, it is 5 separate sections with four seams. I will put down a second coat on the entire roof a some point soon, with the spare gallon.I tried using the squeegee, but gave up and just went with a brush on the hard to reach areas, and a paint roller on the larger areas. It goes on easy, but it is a bit messy and requires concentration not to step on what you already applied (did that a few times!).I used the blue 3M masking tape, which is definitely the masking tape to use, but I left it on too long, at about 48 hours. I now have a residue from the masking tape that I will need to remove at some point. So, all in all a good buy and would definitely recommend Liquid Rubber to anyone wanting to re-cover their RV roof.
