Great ratchets for the price
Bought this 84 tooth and the flex head 120 tooth ratchets with the long handle. I've been wrenching for 40+ years and always purchased higher end tools which last longer then the average retail store tools and designed for a better fit in specific locations. Both of these ratchets exceeded the quality I assumed for the low price I paid. Pay attention to today's tools. Many are quite acceptable and meet but not exceed Mac, Snap-On, Proto tools for the average and above mechanic. True, they are not the top, but you will be surprised at just how good the Goodwrench ratchets are. I can't speak for the open end, combination wrenches or the sockets but you certainly will well adding both of these ratchets to your tool cabinet.

Favorite 1/2" ratchet in my arsenal
I was an NAASE and Chevrolet certified mechanic for years long ago, and I've owned many good and bad ratchets, everything from parts store discount bin items up through Mac and Snap-On tools items. I have a 30+ year old Snap-On 1/2 drive that still works fine, but this ratchet from GearWrench is my new favorite/go-to. First, the tooth count makes for a lot less rotation needed for driving bolts/nuts. Second, unlike the Snap-On, the drag on the gearing is much lighter, and works significantly better once a bolt/nut is free spinning. Third, the handle length, being about 33-50% longer than most standard 1/2" drive ratchets is much more conducive to bolts that one would use a 1/2" drive tool on, but not so long as a breaker bar. Finally, the contour of the handle is similar to Snap-On, hence, very comfortable. So far, after 4 months, this ratchet has performed as well as if not better than any comparable item I ever bought off of a tool truck when working in dealerships. will definitely look to GearWrench for any other ratchets I want in the future.

Works Perfect and Meets all Expectations (Long Handle 81264 3/8 Ratchet)
Was considering purchasing the snap on FL80, which was much more expensive and chose to go with the GearWrench Long Handle 81264 (3/8 Ratchet). While there is no comparison to the Snap-On products, I am so glad I purchased the GearWrench. It has held up well to consistent use in the last two months. It's the first ratchet I reached for when I serviced my AC system, fuel lines, and recently the clutch hydraulics on my car. The tool is a good length, the tooth count just right and the narrow profile has been a life saver when working in tight spaces. Overall the tool has worked perfectly and have had zero issues. Highly recommend!

Gear Wrench has good tools for the price that doesnt drain your wallet.
Ive been using Gear Wrench tools for quite some time now. For the price of their sockets and ratchets plus wrenches. You cant go wrong. I literally have almost every ratchet, socket, and wrench plus ratchet wrenchs that gear wrench sells. I use their tools everyday being a full time mechanic. I work on anything from semi trucks to small tractors. If your gonna do something stupid like putting a 3 foot cheater pipe on it, Then yea your prob gonna break it. DUH. I can break snap ons half inch 24 inch all day long doing that. Take care of them and they last a long time. 120xps are great for motor and transmission work. They do start to lose their fineness after some hard use. 84 tooth are really strong and still fairly fine. I bought my first 120xp set three years ago and I'm still using them at the shop everyday.

Broken dreams
It was good while it lasted. But it couldn't handle all 165lbs of me getting up on it. I'd assume the heat treatment was done incorrectly. I liked it alot while it was in one piece.

Hubby was very happy with the quality of this wrench.
Hubby needed a new 1/2" wrench (anything but craftsman he said) and was really happy with this. i will update review in a bit to let you know how this is working out for him.

Narrow head
The narrow flat head allowed it to go into small spaces and the on and off switch was great. No thinking which way to turn it. Well made. I'm going to purchase Gearwrench moving forward.

A beautiful and useful tool
A lot of ordinary 3/8" drive ratchets are not very long, and if you need extra leverage, you don't always want to reach for the breaker bar. This Gearwrench ratchet has a longer-than-normal handle for those occasions. The fit and finish is beautiful, and it feels really good in the hand when using it.

Try contacting their Customer Services
Someone "borrowed" mine- broke the gear mechanism. I have tried everything I can to contact them / their customer services. (USA and the UK) their "contact us" mails b0unce on both sides of the pond. N0body wants to own up to their L1fetime warranty (numbers used so Amazon's filters won't let me post an h0nest review !) - I wou1nt reccomed these to any9ne as there is N0 lifetime warranty and even if there was Y0u can't c@nt contact anyone UK or USA so it's meaningless
