I bought this UGREEN cable expecting at least some greenness—maybe a green stripe, a green connector. Or MAYBE it would turn ME green like a budget Incredible Hulk? Nope. Just a perfectly functional, completely un-green cable. Despite this betrayal, it does exactly what it promises: moves data from A to B or B to A like an overachieving digital courier. My external drive connects instantly, files transfer at warp speed. Pros: 1) Data zips through like it’s late for a meeting. Cons: 1) Zero green. 2) Did not turn me into a rage-powered superhero. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

fits & works well, so far. After misplacing my og cord for a semi old external drive. I found out, not any usb cable could work Ugh! these are "keyed" or have that weird connector. I figured i could borrow 1 from another drive, but that might not work sharing a cable between my 2 external & would be hard switching around 1 cable! luckily amazon sells everything!! worried it might not fit right, or be compatible, but it does & is. works well & fits perfectly like its supposed to! a perfect replacement. no worries, happy it just works.

This cable is perfect for connecting an external hard drive to a computer or mobile phone for temporary/mobile data transfer uses. The casing and connections feel rebust, both being made of a similarly firm, dense rubber. I really appreciate having different cable length options but would prefer to have one maybe even a little shorter- a 10cm option would be great. I got the shortest, the 18 inch/40-ish cm option and it's simply too long. I like that it's plain black, matches the rest of my usual cables. This cable seems to work well at what it is meant to do, transferring data, and seems like it'll last- my one gripe is the lack of flexibility in the cable. I appreciate that it's thick and tough feeling but it's simply too stiff for me to be able to keep my drive where I want it without being moved by the cable returning to the shape it was packaged in. All in all, this is probably the best compromise of cost and quality you'll find on Amazon for this cable, having had to replace several cheaper and currently owning a couple nicer, more expensive options. I recommend it for sure.

I bought this cord to replace an Amazon Basics cord that had issues right away. The manufacturer's cord lasted about 1.5 years before it started having issues, which was supposed to be fixed by the Amazon cable. The Amazon cable immediately had transfer rate issues depending on the orientation of the cord, but eventually stopped working completely just after the return period. I have had this one for about 2 months. The transfer rate is great, and all games load quickly. Haven't had any issues since getting this cable regardless of cable orientation i.e. I can move my system without issues. I also liked that there was a shorter length option - don't need 3+ feet from external to system. The price is comparable to the Basics version, but the build quality seems better. I have had other UGreen cords in the past, and they are amazing. They have great prices and the products are long-lasting. I will update if there are any issues in the future, but I don't anticipate any. I was having difficulty with my external hard drive. After troubleshooting I discovered the cable was not firmly connecting the hard drive to the computer. This cable resolved the problem. Great value and works well.

I noticed this is a lot thicker than the factory supplied cable that came with the HDD. This works well for it's intended purpose. I bought it to use as an experiment and I cut into the cable near the center. I liked the over braid, drain wire, and the overall foil shield I had to remove along a short section. It's a very nicely made cable. For my specific use I cut the red wire in half and connected a small switch. Naturally this voids the warranty. So if it fails in the future I will just buy a replacement. This fits my use situation perfectly. I will buy more data cables made by this company in the future. I can't speak to durability as I have only had it in use for a relatively short period of time. And most people don't modify their cables.

L'ho comprato per collegare un HDD Samsung da 2 TB autoalimentato al router e mettere in condivisione (funzione nas) i file audio e video sulla rete locale Lan di casa. Il cavo è ben fatto, ma abbastanza rigido e poco flessibile. Se prende una piega resta in quel modo ma si ripristina facilmente. La velocità nel trasferimento dati mi sembra la stessa del cavetto corto in dotazione al disco rigido. Nessun problema ad alimentare l'HDD nonostante che la sua lunghezza è di 2 metri. Ho provato a scaricare un file da 5 GB da pc a disco ed entrambi i cavetti hanno impiegato lo stesso tempo per trasferirlo. Da un lato ha la presa USB A e dall'altro lato la Micro B v. 3.0. Buon rapporto prezzo\prestazioni. Spero di essere stato utile.
