It works! Well, with an Apple home hub

I like the design and ease of control. Setting up is done with the Eve app, but programme control is done via Apple Home on an iPhone. It's easy to fit in place of a thermostatic head on a radiator valve.I use mine to control the heating period and temperature for my bathroom, which would otherwise be heated every time the boiler fired. (Make sure the boiler has a bypass loop in case of an over-run though)The aim is to save fuel, but also not to overheat the room.

Absolutely Perfect

I live in a block with communal heating and have two radiators in my flat that are linked (even the plumbers were baffled) so that the valve in the living room also controlled the radiator in the bedroom. Worst of all I couldn’t control the temperature as the heating was either on or off regardless of what setting I applied at the TRV. It was uncomfortably hot at times and I was constantly turning the radiator on and off to regulate. This Eve device has completely solved my issue. It turns the valve on and off to maintain a constant temperature and I now have control that I didn’t think possible with my plumbing set up. The automations through Apple Home are great and so far I’ve been so impressed. I can ask Siri to set a temperature or use the Eve or Home App to do do so and as mentioned I can automate the whole day so as not to even have to think about it. Worth every penny I spent on it and I only needed one.

Great for Individual Room Control

The product installs very easily and functions effectively out of the box. They can sometimes be a little loud at night, so I wouldn’t recommend if it’s right next to your bed.

Room Thermostat Issues

The Room Thermostat just did not work which was a shame as the Radiator Thermostats work a treat.

Very useful

I bought this to try out and see if it could help lower costs compared to conventional thermostatic valves. It's a lot lower initial cost than most of the competition as you don't need a proprietary control unit wired into your boiler. As well as controlling much better than the conventional units the radiator can be scheduled to warm up at set times according to a schedule you set for that room - different schedules possible for different days of the week. The unit is easily installed, set up and monitored via an Apple app. If you have an apple mini-pod they can form part of an apple home network, allowing settings to be adjusted over the internet or controlled through Siri.I found these devices to be an extremely useful tool for controlling heating costs, I've since bought 4 more and will shortly buy another 4 to complete my radiator set up. Provided they last for a few years I think they will easily pay for themselves in this time of fuel price inflation.

Works just fine, and saves my utility bills!

A gadget that works. For me I use it stand alone. it replaced a (perfectly good) mechanical thermostatic radiator value [which looked like a Danfoss RAS-C²]. Fitting did not involve turning the water off or anything, just taking the old value off (which took a bit of googling, and was a bit stiff!), then fitting the batteries and fitting the new one (easy), and doing the app (easy). Since then (three months so far) it has worked perfectly. Still on original batteries. It saves heating the living room when no-one is there. I estimate it has already paid for itself by now (three winter/spring months), would pay back faster now with bills going up. Reccomended: I am planning to get addiitonal valves in the autumn (only as I turn the heating off in the summer months!).

Great thermostats, but flakey network connection

Got three of these so far, and while being great , high quality standalone units, network and features have much to be desired!Very much an IOS (,or Google) device, requiring the appropriate border router. With Alexa, tgey are an absolute PITA.They drop off multiple times per day, the border router (Echo in ours) ,and devices they use as a switch to it, have to be restarted at LEAST daily .NONE of the features advertised work with Alexa, as the Eve gome app is useless, it just does NOT work with Alexa! So, you can set temp (if it connects), and set a routine (in the unlikely event it connects at the time).Hopefully, once the Alexa compatible Eve app is released, then the other features, tracking etc will be available (if it connects)!

Beware Temperature Reading Accuracy

First off, as per some reviews these TRVs can be noisy and unfortunately pot luck if you get a noisy or quiet unit. I have 10 fitted and two are very noisy, 2 which are near silent and the rest which are acceptable. Now, I’ve found with all of mine that the ‘issue’ with these TRVs is the accuracy with which they read room temperature. They have a feature where you can adjust the temperature ‘offset’ to a plus or minus value to compensate for the TRV reading a different temperature to, for instance, where you may be sitting in the room. So for example, if the TRV is showing a temperature of 21 degrees and the middle of the room is only 19 degrees you can easily program in via the app a temperate offset of minus 2 degrees to compensate for the difference. However, the difference between the TRVs measurements and room temperature is not linear - so in my case if the TRV is reading 19 degrees an offset of minus 2 degrees is required, but when the TRV is reading 19.5 degrees an offset of only 1 degree is required. So these TRVs are not going to provide very accurate temperature control, at a guess at any one time they could be opening/closing with an error of about 2 degrees. Also just worth mentioning these TRVs do not link to a boiler (which I knew). This can be an issue for certain scenarios, so if you want to completely turn off a radiator in room for a period during the day, and then want that room to be warm later in the day although these TRVs can be programmed to do just that the room isn’t going to heat up if the main boiler thermostat isn’t calling for heat.
