Perfect EDC Fixed Blade for those who prefer to scout carry!!!
Simply awesome design!! No idea how Kizer did it, but they managed to make a perfect EDC fixed blade knife, that comes with its own โscout carryโ molded sheath; which creates the perfect retention that one does not need to worry about this knife falling off, falling out of its sheath for no reason, or any of the above. The sheath has great retention,& the 1st time I was wearing the knife, I was riding my Electric Skateboard & somehow managed to hit an area of sidewalk (of which Iโve been up,& down 100โs of times in the past), which had a 4โ gap cut out of it by come construction crew, who failed to put a warning sign, or anything letting anyone know about the missing sidewalk. So to hit that huge gap going 23-25mph on an Electric Skateboard, & then end up flying through the air & hitting the pavement in a horrible position. That cut away sidewalk gap caused my board to stop dead in its tracks,& I flew a good 20 feet,& I landed flat on my stomach somehow. With this mounted on the front of my belt, even the slide,& impact of that fall didnโt move the knife, nor did it force the knife out of its sheath. The knife handle actually prevented nasty road rash,& worse damage to my body, as the end of the handle somehow took the brunt of the impact from the sidewalk. The end of the handle got slightly scraped up, but Iโd prefer that as opposed to having road rash up my whole stomach, etc. One can hardly notice the micarta handle has a โpavement slideโ mark on it at all. The fact that this knife didnโt fly off of me from the forces of that impact & pressures that the overall fall created amazed me. Iโve had several other fixed blade knives that have fallen off of me,& some have almost gone through my legs (when Iโve fallen off of other Skateboardโs, esp. when downhill riding years back). The handled this knife is the perfect length for my hand,& Iโve got some pretty oddly shaped hands. Iโve got huge palms, skinny, but long fingers. The handle is super comfy, yet also not crazy long to make this knife stand out as one wears it. Itโs easily concealed,& perfect for self defense,& all desired uses. One key feature in the knife has to do with the top part of the blade ( the โchoilโ I believe?), which can also be utilized to choke up on the knife for specific uses, such as feathering wood, in order to make a fire, etc. The knife is an absolute prefect โall aroundโ knife. It arrived sharper than all of my Pro-Tech,Spyderco,& Benchmade knives. It is still razor sharp after having been used for well over 300 times over the past 12 days,& has been used for every cutting purpose (opening Amazon boxes, cooking, meal prep, etc). This would make an excellent camping/survival knife if one is looking for an all around use knife, that is insanely sharp. Exceptional knife for any โself defenseโ applications. In the end, I will definitely be buying a few more of these for Xmas gifts for friends, & family.

2nd time around is 'full joy'!
no detent at all! seller said to get to try a heat gun and work with it maybe, but that didn't work. a person needs the proper tools to work with kydex, and i dont have them. If i were setup to build kydex sheaths myself I think id buy the blade I want then build my own sheath for it. A foldover sheath just like this one, but with a real strong detent for sure. The the foldover/taco style sheath is what pushed me to choose this knife in the first place. But its... its just not too good this time. I gave it two stars as a really like the knife. It's a big bummer. I must have the worst luck! guess it has to go back. Now the choice; try a second one or try something different? all the looking done for what i wanted this was closest choice. i guess we'll try one more time. what a drag! UPDATE 07JUN2022: I got a replacement. WOW! totally awesome! up'd the rating to 5 stars . This knife snaps into the kydex just the way you'd hope for. Very happy now. Not sure why some say its small, maybe they have bigger hands than mine? I wear a large work glove. Iโm wondering if that last one was someoneโs return that got mixed in with new as the two items were in differing conditions inside the box. But that doesnโt really matter as this replacement is everything Iโd hoped it was to be when Iโd initially chose it. This is perfect size and weight for an EDC fixed blade. I love it! I still wish it was 1095hc though. But D2 is much better than plain ole' stainless steel (imo). UPDATE MARCH15, 2023; I love mine so much i bought one for my little brother. I checked it, bevels are perfect, and sharp. And the kydex sheath detent is completely tight and perfect. My brother was happy with his birthday present!

Great knife with a some work.
This knife fits my hand (large size glove) perfectly. The curve on top is a great natural thumb placement. This would be 5 stars except for the sheath and edge. The sheath was way too tight but I spent 20 minutes with a blow dryer and fixed it. The belt loop straps and snaps are cheap. The edge of the straps had stiff fibers that punched into my thumb enough to draw blood. I filed them down but for a knife that is supposed to be hand finished this is a bit of a letdown. I'll probably replace the straps and snaps. The knife was sharp but not shaving sharp. Another 20 minutes on a strop got it there. I would recommend this knife for the $ as long as you're willing to put in the time to make it right. The ergos are great and it's the perfect size for an EDC fixed carry.

Appealing EDC Fixed Blade
For the seasoned or aspiring rural gentlemen in particular, this knife suits especially well as something with a little more capability than a swiss army knife, but without the weight, bulk, and profile of a full size hunting or bush knife strapped to your leg. High quality D2 steel arrived with a shaving keen, if not mirror custom, edge. Full flat grind, a 90 degree spine, and about 20 degrees on the edge bevel of what is essentially a miniature chef's knife profile is an incredibly harmonious design, harkening back to the sort of practical eating and personal field utensil a well appointed person might have carried centuries ago. Dressing game, peeling an apple, or shaving feathersticks from fatwood is all quick work with this handy little companion. Sheath is solid and retains just well enough, but could use some fine tuning refinement. Lack of an active retention mechanism is a little disconcerting in a sheath designed primarily for behind the back carry and with an easily snagged lanyard on the knife handle. I live with it but wish they'd have added a handle snap strap. The included belt straps are serviceable, but knock off grade and have sharp poking frays along the edges and use cheap button hardware. Fortunately they are easily replaced with high quality sheath straps of standard medium size and a #1 phillips screwdriver. All in all, and especially for the asking price at the time I purchased, this is a home run of a knife for rural EDC.

Sharp Knife, Beautiful Knife and Practical EDC
So if you are buying this knife, you probably are buying it for EDC, and honestly you cannot go wrong with it. Although I am no aficionado when it comes to knives, I can tell that this knife is very well made (although made In China, which may upset someone). When you open the package you get a little pamphlet about the company, their warranrty, and the knife itself, and some photos with the knifemaking process (which honestly are very aesthetically pleasing), you then get your sheath and the knife itself. Now, the only issue I had with this knife, is I didn't know you had to hear a "click" before the knife was fully sheathed, so I nicked myself on the end of the knife, but if you know that its easily avoidable. Overall, if I had to buy a knife for someone else, I would have no troubles choosing this knife, for the price point and what you get, you are getting a steal of a deal. The ergonomic feeling within the hand, the sides of the knife, which are surprisingly pleasing to move your finger across, and that most important fact that it comes with a free lint remover (this is a joke btw) are all reasons you must get this knife. 11/10 would buy again.

Great EDC knife
Just got it today. So far it is great. Fits snug on the belt and I use cross draw from my left side. This Kiser Harpoon fits the bill for EDC. You wonโt be disappointed. Real value for the money and the knife quality is top notch.

Good deal
First time tryong this brand. Nice blade- good steel. Nice scales & design where forefinger goes. The grip feels nice. Built solid. Very comfortable to hold. Balanced well, and a nice weight. Wearing horizontal in back & don't notice. Cuts great & staying sharp. I wish it had cut grooves on top of the blade where your thumb goes.

Kizer Harpoon Knife is awesome!
Kizer Harpoon Knife is now my favorite fixed blade knife! Blade very sharp, sheath is very secure, and grip is very comfortable. Only complaint is that the leather belt keeper broke on the 5th day of carry. A suggestion, change leather keepers to nylon keepers. It will last longer. Other than that, I love my Kizer Harpoon!
