Worked for me
I discovered the latch on my sliding door lock not working Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning this arrived from Amazon. It took all of two minutes to install. Now all is well.I don't know how these things compare but it works and it was easy!

This "Lock" replaced the original that went MIA!
While replacing a lock set on my niece's sliding glass patio door I pulled the actual "lock" out of the door for inspection and cleaning. The original door handle literally failed by fracturing at the base of the handle and folding completely back on itself. Upon inspection the "lock" portion of the lock set was found to be in very good condition and did not need replacing, so why did I order this lock? The slider on my niece's home has a vinyl frame, and that frame is hollow so the lock, while being a "mortise" type did not fit into a mortise pocket; rather, it fits into the "hollow" of the frame and is held in place by the two screws of the handles (inner and outer). Unfortunately, as I was attempting to re-insert the lock into the mortise opening and fit the handle and screws in place, the lock slipped down and actually fell all the way to the bottom of the internal hollow of the door. Despite being only about 30 inches or so below the mortise opening and trying every idea I could think of to retrieve it, that lock was no longer available to be put back into use. It was gone for good! Fortunately for us there are a number of sources that can supply replacements. We ordered a new one from Prime-Line through Amazon. The price was very good, and the lock itself is an exact duplicate of the door's original lock (except for some stamped numbers that the original manufacturer had placed on it). It fit the new replacement lock set handle that we had picked out (also from Prime-Line) perfectly and it works great. I did need to file down the door's mortise opening on one side just a bit, but this is a normal thing as parts produced years-apart are always going to have some minor differences in how they fit. This was an excellent choice to use in finishing my niece's door "upgrade!"

Last about a year
These last about a year before the spring breaks. I'm glad they aren't to high in price

Perfect fit for replacement
Worked perfectly to replace original on reliabilt sliding glass door from Lowes. Took about 5-10 minutes for me to do myself(middle aged woman). I admit I did lose grip of the old one and it fell down in door frame never to be seen again but dropping it didn't impact door operation. Would advise to hold on to old one more tightly while removing 😅I also had to use a little WD-40 on new one after installing.

Perfect fit but the latch was a little tight going up and down
Worked great…BUT I had to spray WD-40 on it immediately because it was a little tight on the latch going up and down. Perfect fit

Stiff and rough locking
While it fits and works, the unit is very stiff and often hard to lock and unlock. The locking arm seems to be off center which causes it to be very temperamental when being used.

Perfect replacement for my latch that failed.

Solved the problem
This is the second time I've replaced this on our sliding door over the past 20 years. It fit the bill.Since it's pressed together rather than held together with screws, I perseverated on taking it apart to replace the spring clip until I noticed that a replacement was just $11 and would be delivered "next day". Problem solved! Thank you, Amazon. Maybe I should have ordered another one for next time, but then I'd have to figure out where I put it.
