Timmy Failure: Now Look What You've Done

My kids both loved the first Timmy Failure book and this one seemed to go over just as well. My son took it and read the whole thing in a few days and then listened and laughed again as I read the book to him and his sister a few chapters at a time each night so I think that counts as a success. Funny and engaging kids book that is great for reluctant readers and kids with a slightly dry sense of humor. On a personal note it is nice to see a kid's book that features a family with a single parent, some financial struggle and an extended family support system. There are some nuggets of human drama and emotion very subtly and deftly woven in with the humor and absurdity of the plot.

I bought this as a gift for my nephew, and he really enjoyed it. The story is funny from start to finish with a style of humor that kept him laughing and fully engaged. It is easy to read and has a playful tone that makes it very entertaining for kids. He liked the silly situations and how the story keeps moving with lots of fun moments and surprises throughout.

We have all the hardcover books as well as the audio books. They are a riot to read. The kids won't get all the humor at first but the grown-ups will and the laughing is contagious. The books are worth many reads because as they'll get older they will get more of the humor and it's all new to them. I got the audio books so I could do the characters properly and try to nail Timmy's arrogant attitude. Again, this are just fun to read. It really does make the whole house laugh when you hear your 4yr-old scream out "MENDACITY!!!"

The story is okay.. uses words that are a bit too advance for my 3 and 5yo, so I have to interpret or replace words/dialogue on the fly. Some jokes are too subtle. Good books, just got them too soon.

Simple but succinct illustrations, and plenty of them. Charming story that is so often hilarious. Every child should be able to see some of themselves in Timmy. And learn to empathize with this little boy who copes with his troubles as best he can -- with great imagination and a bevy of friends who ultimately understand him. Timmy's adventures are always kind of wacky but the end of the book always brings the story down to touch ground with a touch of heart-felt reality.

Stephan Past is hilarious. This book is even better than Timmy Failure #1 which was already in a class by itself! In this one timmy's mom losses her job and the live with his crazy graundaunt who adds most of the hummer to this book. there is a huge detective countywide contest and the prize is $500 in cash. Timmy ensues crazy antics when he misses the deadline he attempts to get sent to a school for bad kids where the deadline is pushed back a month....

My so loves to read these books.

I literally just love the way Stephan Pastis writes this book and I love the pictures also !!!! You definitely have to read it at least once.

I like how Timmy Is not the best detective but thinks he is. I love how he accuses the dumbest people. I recommend this book to all ages even for adults. Best book ever!

Another hilarious edition of Timmy Failure. A great book series, especially for kids who don't enjoy reading, it will keep them laughing and entertained.
