It's pretty but weak.
It's a good looking fan and easy to assemble (even though it didn't include installation instructions) but it does not push much air. Speeds 1-3 are useless, except as just a visual fan moving. On speed 6 there is what I consider adequate air movement but only if you are standing directly under the fan. If you move even outside the fans circumference the air becomes unnoticeable. My air speed gauge read a max 275 ft/min (air speed feels like a brisk walk) directly under the fan. At the edge of the fan's circumference it read 118 ft/min and 5 ft away from the fan it read 0.It needs a speed 7 and 8

Do not buy
Have had this for about a year now. It does move air. It looks great but not worth it

No Airflow
I have an 88" like it in my Den and it will freeze you out, so I thought this 84", similar design - same company, would be great since I couldn't get the 88" any longer. I installed the fan and found that it turned on speed six like my 88" does on 3 or 4. This fan apparently was designed to turn at 750rpm whereas my 88" was 1200rpm....why? Anyway, it doesn't move enough air to be of any value on the patio. I called Minka and was told that the fan was designed to circulate air rather than BLOW air...on a 100˚ day it needs to blow! It seems to need a great blade pitch than 9˚...just doesn't do the job.

No airflow
I cannot believe this fan has 4+ stars. Mine is going back. There's almost no airflow. It's worthless to us. If you want to feel any air movement, don't buy this fan. I've had $100 fans from Home Depot that have more airflow. Stay away. It is very quiet but it should be moving no air.
