Toy is worth having around at home at least for the fun factor.
I bought this toy mainly because I was looking for something to jazz up my office desk. It's sort of like playing with Protein Folding. I had much fun attaining various shapes, and at other times, just hearing it click.I ended up taking it home with me to play with it some more on the bus, and at home.Pros:1 - Well made. Uses a notch system which helps it hold shape. From a quick test, a single piece is able to hold about 29 to 33 pieces horizontally without giving way to gravity.2 - Lots of links. ~48 on mine.3 - Makes a satisfying click sound. (see Cons)4 - Easily separable - just pull.Cons:1 - If you're thinking to use as a fidget toy: Clicks are loud, detectable even on running bus with engine noise. Clicks sound like one is clipping nails. Person on bus in front of me gave me a backwards glance.Despite the above clicking sound, the toy is worth having around at home at least for the fun factor. It kind of reminded me of playing with LEGO bricks, but instead of having to look through a pile of LEGO bricks for the LEGO piece you need, it's like having all the LEGO pieces concatenated to each other for easy access.

gentle, fun exercise for arthritic hands
I got this for my mom, who has bad arthritis in her hands and wrists. She tends to avoid using her hands much due to pain, but that can worsen stiffness and weakness. I hoped she would enjoy playing with this enough that it would encourage her to use her hands more. Success! She keeps it by her recliner and reaches for it every time she watches TV. It does make a small clicking noise, but it's not loud enough to prevent her hearing the TV. In fact, the clicking is kind of a satisfying noise and she likes it. She makes all sorts of shapes and sculptures out of her Wacky Tracks and uses it daily. I see a definite difference in how much she uses her hands now - she's not as reluctant to do things as her hands have become somewhat less stiff through this exercise. The only trouble is my dad loves this toy as well. Guess I'll have to buy him his own!**I bought her a Tangle Relax Therapy toy last year and though she did like it, she definitely likes this one a lot better.

endless fidgety pleasure
let's be clear from the outset of this review that I am well past childhood.... like really really far away from it though I am pretty much a goofy kid at heart. I like toys. I like kinetic toys and toys that I can bend and snap and fidget with. I bought this silly wacky track for myself to fidget with. I have lots of fidgety toys but I find myself reaching for this one so much of the time. I like the way it bends, I like the satisfying little clicking noise it makes when you move the links around into different shapes. This would be something to consider if you need to fidget in public. It is by no means silent. This is a play by yourself sort of fidgeter.Along with the sound, I like the fact that I can configure it every which way and then some. Truly engaging. Honestly, I can't think of a better way to spend $6. Lately I've been finding all this great stuff for under $10 and now I can add this wacky track to the list of that great stuff.BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommend this for fidgeters and anyone else who likes a satisfying toy for very little money. After I purchased this one I came back to amazon and purchased a four pack of these for only $12. I would recommend that as the best way to go. Have a spare for yourself or have one for each of your kids.

Good product, but not suited for group settings--too noisy
I bought this fidget for use with my therapy clients, and think it could be effective in certain contexts, but you might want to consider your goal in using the fidget or what kinds of settings you are going to use it in before purchasing. For one, it is VERY loud. Any time you move the fidget, it makes a clicking sound which can be heard even over normal voice level conversation. This is not a problem if the person using the fidget is in a room by themselves, if you are using it to help you focus while studying, etc, but if you are purchasing this for use in a group or classroom setting, I would consider the amount of noise level in the room and if it is a quieter setting or a setting where any type of repetitive noise (think of that person tapping their pen repeatedly on table, or someone who types REALLY obnoxiously loud on their keyboard), this is probably not the product for you.I do like that it is flexible/can be bent multiple ways, is a portable size that easily fits inside a pants or jacket pocket, and is a fun color. Just doesn't work for my purposes.

Brings back memories
At the risk of sounding ancient, I got one of these at my pediatrician’s office as a kid (it was *definitely* some pharma swag haha). I had it for an incredibly long time, and then one day it was sadly misplaced. This showed up when I was looking for a birthday present and I had to snag one for myself. Still very satisfyingly clicky, and sometimes I make a very ugly phone stand out of it. It could definitely annoy a stranger, but I don’t find it obnoxiously loud—kind of a pen clicking level of noise. I remember it sometimes pinching my finger, but I haven’t done that to myself yet. Wish you could pick your color combo, but happily I received one of my favorites, so I lucked out.

Kids love it. Much more flexible than I thought -- more space for creativity etc. Pretty cool toy. I'd buy it again.Don't know if you are supposed to be able to take it apart but we couldn't. Wish they could. Would like to combine with others or be able to not have a complete circle. Also it makes clicking sounds as you move it which is fine but just not going to work if you wanted it for a quiet setting.
