high quality, sturdy
Just installed this outdoors for use with Wilson outdoor cellular 700mhz antenna. High quality, sturdy unit. I don't expect any problems with this surge protector. The only note is the ground wire/rod connector is designed to be the 'end' of the wire, not in-line. So there is a short screw into the side of the unit, and is supplied with an o-style connector where the ground wire goes into its stem end and is crimped. I had to find a different longer screw to avoid using the o-style wire connector as I had an existing ground wire for another antenna that I wanted to wrap around just the screw of the surge protector.

Am I happy? / Yes it is in and supposedly protecting ...
I am not sure what to write here as my system is working which means the surge suppressor is allowing data to pass through but the only way one knows if a surge suppressor is working is if one witnesses their antenna being struck by lightning and then seeing their system continue to function properly. Am I happy?/ Yes it is in and supposedly protecting my system.

Wilson Electronics 859902 Surge Protector
Based on a review I ordered this item for my Wilson DB pro and it is in fact the incorrect one. 859992 is the correct 75 ohm protector you need and you will not need the adapters as it connects directly to coax. I hope my review saves someone a little hassle. But this 50ohm protector is in fact the wrong one for the DB pro.

Waiting for the strike!
Wilson quality, great design, easy install that should go outside so the ground can run free of the structure. Plan for the connection when you design the antenna install. Have a line from inside antenna to amp. Have a line from the amp to the outside mounted Lightning Surge Protector and another line from the surge unit to the outdoor antenna. Order a replacement gas cartridge for the surge unit. Lines with factory ends will be far better than anything you try to invent at home. I used wilson 30ft,10ft and 2ft cables. The longer the wire run, the more signal is lost. Note: I used #8 solid copper ground line for connecting to a utility copper grounding rod driven six feet into the ground. Big Box hardwares have these items in the electrical depts.

Keeps my equipment form dying
Was operating a internet over cell tower setup without one of these when EM from a heavy storm nuked some of my equipment; now with this item that doesn't happen anymore. Connectors are female N type connectors on both sides so get extra cables accordingly. Will also require some wire to attach to the grounding lug and to jab into the ground. For a cheap grounding spike you can go to a hardware store and buy a big foot-long galvanized nail for under a dollar and wrap the other end of the wire around it. Solder the wire ends in place to ensure proper conductivity. For anyone needing replacement fuses, according to a bit of Google research the fuse part for this product is called a "Wilson replacement gas discharge element 859920"

This seller does not know his products
This surge protector was listed on Amazon in the "people who bought this item also bought this" department when we bought a Wilson cell phone signal booster DBPro.. A surge protector makes total sense with the product we were purchasing; however, the unit listed on Amazon was a 50 Ohm and the DBPro we purchased required (per the enclosed set up instructions) a 75 Ohm surge protector. We had no way of knowing this information until we opened the DBPro box. Wilson is a respected name in this field that is why we bought 2 products they produce but someone one on their staff, or the seller, should have caught this error in the Amazon listing. We contacted the seller, Portable Guy, prepared to return the unopened surge protector package and buy the correct one. We learned the seller would simply charge us a restocking fee and make no effort to assure that we had the correct components for setting up our DBPro. We still do not have the correct surge protector. One thing we do have is a $400 + doorstop in the DBPro that we won't set up to see if it even works here on Lightening Ridge until we have the 75 Ohm surge protector to go with it.

Product is solid & seems well made. I whish Wilson recommended it when I bought their cell phone amp, I found out about it after a lighting surge ruined my amp, the replacement came with a note about needing this surge protector. It did not come with the correct size connectors to screw into the cable line even though it was the recommended model number, I had to order them from the manufacture ($20).
