Alien Gear ShapeShift IWB Appendix Carry Holster - Custom Fit for Discreet Carry - Right or Left Hand, Modular System Options, Best Appendix Holster for Every Day Carry

First time trying Alien Gear. Really cool engineering - very comfortable, very adjustable. Very configurable. I want to see how all the little adjusters and pieces hold up to heavy use over time. I'm really liking it though!!

It fits like a glove and is extremely comfortable. Conceals the weapon better than any holster I have used in the past.

Received loose parts in a shipping bag. No box just parts. Tried to assemble from Alien Gear video but seems to be parts missing and extra parts that don't belong to the product ordered. Supposed to be left or right carry, but the set up I received only seems to be for left....sad

I recently purchased an alien gear holster. Somehow I ended up with a left hand draw so requested an exchange from Amazon with a change to right hand draw mentioned in comment area. Apparently Alien Gear did not get the part of the request for switching to right hand draw so I ended up with a left hand draw again but it was a fast exchange. At that point I decided to bypass Amazon and wrote diretly to Alien Gear explaning what happened and requesting a change to a right hand draw again. I offered to pay for shpping since I did not feel it was Alien Gears fault. Within a few days I had the correct holster and no charge for shipping. I am more than a little impressed to say the least. Holsters for me from now on will come from Alien Gear.

I recieved a extra "side" ? for my Left Hand holster. I see nothing about how or why. It SEEMS to be for right hand? I ordered LEFT HAND. It came LEFT HAND but includes right hand part? Looking at the instructions I don't see how or why I received this large part. The right hand part had a nice spring release button. I wanted that on my left hand. Instructions were cryptic and made no sense. I tossed them aside and I started playing with it. I took it all appart and after a lot of guesswork. I swapped the spring release over to the left hand mold that was installed. I put it all back together and now it seems like it will be very nice. (If I did it right). My springfield 3" fits nice. CLIPS in now that I put on the spring clip. (else the gun can fall/slip out of the holster. Once I started playing around with the disassembly and reassembly it seemed logical and pretty easy. I wish the instructions would explain what this huge right/side part is? Maybe it comes with both and the one we choose is the one installed by default? The is another part that is installed on the right hand side plate. It looks like a GEAR that protrudes out (maybe it's for other accessories to add on?) This is my point - TO MANY MAYBES... why do the instructions not explain what all parts are and what they are for? I don't need instructions to tell me to use the hex wrench to losen the hex screws. Or how the clip connects to my belt. (Really?) It's like instructions that show how to plug an AC plug into a wall power outlet. - Not actually worn it yet. I may report back later.

I should have read the prior reviews. It isn’t compatible with optics which is okay I guess but there is significant printing that I couldn’t avoid. I am returning it and they deduct the cost of shipping from your return.

Fits well. Is comfortable while standing and walking. Not exactly the most comfortable while sitting or driving (being an appendix holster it is to be expected) instructions on changing parts can be difficult to understand at first. Breaking down and changing parts are made easy but also secure enough to not worry about it coming apart while carrying. Ordered left handed received one left handed clamps shell and one right handed clamps shell. Would have definitely preferred receiving a second left handed clam instead just incase something happens to one I have a back up ( right handed appendix draw is not only awkward as a lefty but torn tendons in my right arm make the appendix draw motion difficult.)
