Review: Original Toyota Part for 1/3 Price (2002 Tundra 4.7L 4WD) - Edit 11/20/23: MAF still working nicely. Yes on the Hitachi and yes on the Denso O2 Sensors. Dew it Grasshopper!!! Had cleaned the original MAF Sensor a few times over the years, but still couldn’t remove the small amount of black carbon on a few of the delicate inner sections. Stealership wanted $175 for new one. Sourced the manufacturer to Hitachi by looking at the snap on cover of the original MAF on the engine. Sourced it back to this store along with New Denso o2 Sensors. Ordered and installed the MAF 6 months ago along with 4 New Denso o2 Sensors. Engine is much torquier! MPG is slightly better now due to the combination of MAF and o2 newness. Tested the old MAF per Toyota FSM Spec and it was out of spec. Same with the old o2’s. After almost 20 years guess it was time? Truck was purring nicely before swap (even being out of spec), but man that awesome torque has come back that I remember when she was new. Engine is even smoother now. The 4.7L rules. Side notes: Looks like Hitachi grinds off the Toyota stamping for branding issues. Sensor doesn’t look used/remanufactured as stated in another comment above. Looks like the exact part as the original. No worries because the original cap pops off and snaps over the New Sensor. Also the cost is $55 vs $170. Made in USA! Denso is Made in USA quality. Comes with Copper Anti-Seize. Suggest buying Lisle Thread Chaser to clean up the threads on the front o2 sensors. Also, a sensor socket is good to have for swapping out the fronts. May want to purchase some new nuts (4) for the rear sensors as the old ones are most likely rusted/deteriorated. If one of your o2’s is bad, suggest replacing all 4 at the same time and be done with it. Restore that sweet torque.
Review: If you’re concerned about ordering OEM on desertcart - Don’t. Came in. No damage. Fit great. Works like a charm.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this part fit my 1996 Camry le upstream?**
A: Go to Denso web site.
http://densoautoparts.com/

**Q: I have a 2000 toyota 4runner, are both the o2 sensors the same? if so i'll just buy two of theses for my truck**
A: For a 2000 4Runner LIMITED 6-cylinder...non-california, automatic, 4WD....TWO of these will work for both upstream and downstream. CONFIRMED. just installed both today...no need for longer wiring harness.

**Q: How do you know if you need to change the upstream or downstream? i have a 2003 toyota sequoia limited 4 wheel drive. thank you.**
A: Save yourself the headache and change both at the same time. Codes will drive you crazy!

**Q: See i have a 2000 sr5 4x4 4runner and i need both 02 sensor part # please also how many do I need**
A: I have a Tundra and have replaced all sensors (4) in my vehicle. The Tundra has a devoted dual exhaust & 2 catalytic converters, one for each side (Driver's / Passanger) of the engine. The exhaust then either combines into a single exhaust pipe seen at the back of the vehicle or maintains separation (devoted), in which case there are 2 exhaust pipes at the rear of vehicle. I'm not sure what configuration your 4runner has, or has been modified to, but can tell you this. What O2 sensors there are go on the exhaust before and after the catalytic converter/s and so a quick inspection under the vehicle should tell you whether you need 2 or 4 sensors. The UPSTREAM sensors (before the catalytic converter/s) on my vehicle bolt into the exhaust by threads on the the sensor itself. The DOWNSTREAM sensors have a double holed mount that 2 bolts from the exhaust pass through and are tightened into place with hex nuts. You will need a slotted socket in order to tighten the UPSTREAM sensor on without to much of a problem. It's not worth trying to do it any other way. Use caution to not to slow turn & break the sensor or mounting bolts when taking them off. I would recommend hammer tapping as opposed to a steady torque force to snap the frozen nuts free for turning. Once free, but still extremely tight, penetrating oil will be able to be sucked up into the threads for further loosening, but until the nuts or sensor has snapped free for turning, penetrating oil won't be of much assistance. Good Luck
