Men's Loose Fit Washed Duck Insulated Active Jac

For over 20 years, I've been buying Carhartt WIP coats (WIP, or 'Work in Progress' is the European street wear company that has licensed the 'Carhartt' brand from the US workwear company since the mid 1990s), but the prices in the UK have increased so much recently (more so than in continental Europe e.g a £200 item costs only €199 (~£165)), and the designs are getting weirder and further from the workwear roots of the original brand. I used to like everything in their range and it all fitted well, but recently it's been quite hit or miss. So I thought I'd check out some US Carhartt, I got a sweatshirt that is great, but I've also had to return a t-shirt and a different jacket before because the sizing was huge. Therefore, I thought trying a different US Carhartt jacket would be a gamble based on my past experience and other reviews saying to size down. I'm only 5' 8" and 140 pounds, so sizing down is not an option. The small is definitely a loose fit as the label says, but that's not an issue for a winter jacket where you want to layer with a jumper or hoodie and maybe a scarf. The sleeves, whilst generous, are not too long (although I wouldn't want them longer) and will keep the cold out. The quality of the jacket is great and I like the classic, but updated style. I can definitely feel that this serious workwear that could be worn by a contractor in Michigan (it even has a special front pocket compartment for your carpenters pencil!), but the jacket also looks smart, so perfect for wearing on my commute or going out. The warmth level feels about right for the autumn and winter in the UK (a 3 out of 4 on Carhartt's warmth scale - bearing in mind we don't get -20℃ plus winters like the brand's main customers face!). The weight feels substantial, but not heavy or cumbersome. This jacket will replace my old Superdry jacket which was very comfortable, but was plagued by quality issues (stitching falling apart and a zip breaking). Given that this jacket is much better value than Carhartt WIP and way better quality than similarly priced Superdry (which has started a Carhartt-style 'surplus' range), I'll definitely be looking at more original Carhartt items for my wardrobe. Thanks to Amazon for making this excellent American brand more available in the Europe. As others have said, if you've been on the fence about getting a jacket from this brand, go for it, I highly recommend it - I'm so pleased with this jacket! I also hope the sizing info is useful for anyone similarly sized.

100% would recommend. I'm 15 and got a M and should last a long time. it looks great and feels great and it also great for working in. and it's very warm. This is now an update I have had this jacket from the 15th of February 2024 and still have it now on the 18th of March 2026. I have worn it for hours at work at a joinery workshop. The main places of wear for me have been on the sleeves which I expected and the cuffs and some on the front pockets apart from that it is doing amazingly. It’s not very dirty I’ve never washed it which I am pretty impressed by. Howver some people might be affected by the fact that this stains from the sun a lot. It goes from the original brown colour to a very soft tan sort of colour which I think looks good. I would highly reccomend this jacket compared the any other work jacket. It’s so warm has great pockets just brilliant. And it looks cool.

Amazing quality as usual. Nice and warm, wears just right. A little oversized but think if you are a large normally it will be just right for you if you wear a lot of hoodies. Might be a little loose with just a t shirt but the style if oversized to be honest so it won't look stupid. The pockets are perfect as well and with a zip internal pocket, you won't be losing anything important. Hood sits perfectly and stays in place.

They are of great quality but fair warning they are definetly oversized. im an XXL tall in everything clothing wise however XXL tall in this is very big on me. its warm and heavy but in a good way

Great, warm jacket that is made from a good quality cotton with a down filling that makes it tea warm and comfortable. More expensive than just a regular jacket, but the quality is undeniable. Went for a large fit for the oversized look.

Brilliant jacket, I’ve been wearing it almost daily for work and out and about for about 3 months now. I did see some reviews from people saying theirs was covered in hair? Mine was fine. Also saw one that said theirs arrived in a bin bag, mine came in plastic Carhartt packaging. The coat is very warm, it’s a great fit on me (I’m 6’1”, about 170lbs and I ordered a large). The fabric is extremely durable, I’ve caught it on fencing/metal at work and it hasn’t even scratched. Some people might not like it because it’s kinda stiff, but it’s durable enough to last a lifetime. I saw some people saying that the inside pockets came away from the lining quite quickly, mine are fine but I can’t really comment because I don’t use these pockets at all.

I've wanted a Carhartt jacket for years and finally took the plunge. Good grief, I wish I'd bought one sooner! Besides the fact they look amazing, the quality is absolutely superb. Impeccable stitching, high quality lining and a zip that would probably survive a nuclear war. Keeps out the cold and wind really well. They are on the big size, so might want to look at a size lower. I'm quite broad shouldered and always buy XL jackets, but after seeing reviews about them being large fitting I went with size L. Glad I did because it fits me perfectly with some room to spare. XL would have been way too big.

Excellent, température - 6 / - 11 avec un pull laine, parfait ( Sofia/Varna) Pour le vent maritime et tempête bien mais prise d'air sur le haut fermeture. Pluie, grésille et neige ne perce pas, mais le poids est impressionnant. Confortable pour les mouvements et léger. Seul bémol la capuche est large et diminue les champs de vision latéraux prudence quand vous traversez ou autre. la fermeture zip et la poche intérieure gauche cause des bouloches aux pulls laines. En résumé un produit polyvalent, de bonne qualité qui répond aux attentes lorsque vous vous trouvez dans des situations non prévisibles. Taille oversize d'où si vous voulez une coupe cintrée prévoir une taille inférieure mais ne perdez pas de vue que c'est une veste oversize.
