Nitecore NU35 Headlamp, Dual Power Source, Long Runtime, USB Rechargeable, Battery Included, Eco-Sensa Type-C USB Charging Cable Included

I love this head lamp. Took it to the Pathfinder Basic Class, and it performed wonderfully. The only problems I had with it were due to my faulty rechargeable Energizer batteries which got exposed to the cold and drained. I didn't realize that to use the built-in battery, it can't have the installed batteries in it. I assumed it would automatically switch over, but it doesn't. Also, the battery life function only works for the built-in battery. So if you have batteries in it that are dead, but check the power by holding the red light button, it will still flash three times. That confused me until I got back to my car after the class and read the manual. It only tells you the power level of the built-in battery. Overall, great light once you understand how it works. Love that I can just turn on the red without cycling through other modes, and love that it always starts on the lowest setting for white and red light. I always hated having my eyes blasted every time I turned on my headlamp. The transparent plastic covering the smaller auxiliary lights (the red & small white) is hazy in such a way that it dissipates the light evenly and makes them softer. So you don't have a laser beam that hurts your eyes because the light is so concentrated when you're doing something 5 feet or closer to you. The main light, however (which is designed to see further away) is completley clear, and is most certainly a spot light. Love this thing. I can read in my hammock with the white or red auxiliary lights without having to rest my eyes every 5 - 10 minites.

I've had the light for 2 years now and recently replaced the batteries only to have the tiny plastic notch that holds the battery compartment closed break off. It's a shame because the light has nice features like dual power, separate buttons for red/white lighting, and generally seemed really nice. I contacted Nitecore and can get a replacement battery compartment for $15 but I feel that the plastics need to be addressed since the same issue will likely happen even with a replacement part. Hoping to have a friend 3D print something better but for now I'm avoiding Nitecore headlamps. As other reviewers have noted the plastics break in other areas on these headlamps sadly. This is not something I'd trust in the field and while some tape might hold the light temporarily it will not remain waterproof when using outdoors. Update: I expressed my concerns with Nitecore and without knowing initially they simply sent me the replacement parts. I would say that customer service certainly went above and beyond but I also was hoping this would be a warranty covered item due to the failure being what I consider a design issue. Anyway I will continue to buy Nitecore products in the future due to the positive outcome.

My husband got me this as a Christmas gift. It lasted 8.5 months. I took it trekking, on car camping trips, and on a few overnight hikes. Never charged improperly or stored wrong. It suddenly got hot when charging, didn't charge, gets hot when on, and will only turn on in the red light mode. And only with the AAAs inserted. The sudden death happened when I was on a very remote outback solo camping night in the Northern Territory of Australia. I had packed a backup. This light replaced a $20 Black Diamond AAA cosmo light I'd had for over a decade, which had irrepairable cracks in the plastic housing. Thought I'd got the replacement to rule them all, but not getting 10 months vs. 10 years out of a product is a big turn-off. I have emailed NiteCore support directly, and hope they can do something about a refund.

Dual powered so I can pop in some batteries on a long trip in case the built-in battery dies... Amazing. I have dug in my pack multiple times in the past just to discover my headlight inadvertently got powered on... not anymore! This one has a cover over the power button... why haven't other headlamps done this? I have three of them and have found the battery life longer than my 'name brand' headlights. I rarely have to put it up to full power as I find the middle brightness plenty of light. Oh... and the controls are easy... 2 buttons (one for white, one for red). One click and it is off. I have had no issues with build quality. And have gifted this little guy to a couple of friends too because I like it so much. A+

- Good LEDs - Good features (USB-C + spare battery, white/yellow/red) - Passable ease of use - AWFUL bracket This headlamp WILL break, and you will probably lose it. Every single one of my Nitecore headlamps has broken at the bracket that connects the device to the head strap. It’s not the kind of thing that superglue or zip ties can fix. For comparison, one out of my last eight Black Diamond / Petzl headlamps have broken in this way; unfortunately those brands don’t offer USB-C or replaceable rechargeable batteries.

Purchased this back in Nov 2021. Returned it within two weeks when the battery closure clip broke off. It would break off again just out of the warranty period. Have made do by taping the battery chamber securely tight which is a major PITA! It's primary use has been in the engine bay and beneath family car's that I prefer to repair myself. Sadly, the unit has exhibited random failures with the rechargeable Li-On batteries even though the battery compartment is very tightly sealed. Today it breathed its last as the AAA batteries won't work unless the battery compartment door is squeezed ever so tight that absolutely no flex of the door obtains. Well, 3 yrs of use for $40 is probably not that bad, but will opt for a high-end replacement and hopefully avoid the daily hassle that the NU35 presented.

The absolute best feature on this headlamp is "Charge Through Technology". There is a built in rechargeable battery AND you can use AAA batteries at the same time. The headlamp will always use the rechargeable batteries first and then automatically switch to the AAA batteries after the rechargeable battery is drained. And here is the kicker... You can recharge the battery WHILE you are actively using the AAA batteries. The headlamp stays on. A decent battery pack and a handful of AAA batteries and in theory you can run the headlamp FOREVER!

I camp quite a bit for a city guy and this headlamp has performed well! The usb-c recharge is easy especially with the light indicator. The headlamp has multiple white light settings and two red light brightness settings. I mainly use the red light for trails and it does well. The white light is good for general flood light usage of setting up tents and such. The battery life is really good, guessing about 6 hours of usage at the low settings. I also like how the on buttons are protected from accidental powering on during transport in my bag. I have bought multiple for my family now.

Perfect for my requirements. I work mostly indoors makingcsmall repairs ie in closets, cupboards etc.

No tengo comparativa en lumenes pero, realmente tiene muy buena luz, la calidad del material muy buena y muuuy ligera! Me gustó bastante! La luz CRI es tenue pero ilumina bastante bien el camino (aprox 5m) y la turbo ni se diga, hice senderismo de noche, corrí sin preocupación con la turbo! Espero que me dure mucho y con el tiempo no pierda calidad en la luz!

Its light and can use 2 power source plus its rechargeable...no complain here...

Used this product for maintenance work. The hybrid battery makes you worry-free when you feel the secondary AAA battery runs out of juice, cause the internal battery will give you more hours for work especially in the night time. I will buy Nitcore products in the future, Definitely recommend 👍🏻
