Best saw accessory I've found. Sharpens and files rakers all in one stroke and that makes a huge difference. Worth the rather high price in my opinion. Simple to use.

I really like the sharpener, thus the 5 stars. However, I'm going to recommend that you not buy one on Amazon just to save a few dollars. There has been an influx of shady third party dealers on Amazon and this creates issues like I ran into. I've been using this since I bought it and it seems to be working great. However, the other day I noticed that one of the guide bars was assembled wrong at the factory and it sitting at an angle in the tool. Stihl will not do anything because the seller is not an authorized dealer. I don't recommend buying this here because of this issue. I've tried to contact the seller but have not gotten a response. It makes me wonder if they are selling counterfeits or known bad product. I'm going to try and fix this myself and, if I can't, I'm buying a replacement from my local Stihl dealer.

I am not a professional but have been using chainsaws since I was 12 years old gathering wood for my family to heat our house. Now at 41 years old I use a chainsaw regularly to cut logs into various shapes for woodturning. I have struggled knowing the best way to sharpen a chain most of my life but do recognize the difference between a properly sharpened chain, a new chain, and a dull chain. After watching a handful of video reviews and instructional videos I was easily able to use this system and understand its value as a 2-in-1. It is also very important to assure the chain is at the correct tension and I found it helpful to lock the chain and sharpen three or four teeth then unlock it and move to the next batch. I was able to sharpen my poulan pro 20-in bar 72 tooth chain in right around 20 minutes. The results are amazing! I didn't realize I needed to do both actions to properly sharpen a chain and this tool does them at the same time. Clamping the bar in a bench vise greatly enhances your ability to easily use this tool with both hands. It is somewhat challenging to do with one hand and much less effective. I will never use any other sharpening system as long as I live.

These work great. However, the orange cap on mine pops open when using and that is really annoying.

Great sharpener. Have used multiple times

I just used this sharpener and it's amazing and very easy to use. I bought a brand new chain for my Poulan Pro 20" and it worked really well. After I cut a bunch of small trees and brush with it I tried to cut a bigger tree and I started to smell burning wood. I took my saw back to the building and used this sharpener on it. No joke, it was sharper than before. I burned right through the tree. The chips from the cut were long and stringy, indicating a a sharp chain. The best part is it only took about 10 minutes to sharpen, and that includes learning how to use it. This was worth the price IMO. It's a great device. Also the files that come with it are very high quality. I could see the steel changing shape as I moved the file through the teeth. I watched a couple review videos on youtube before I bought this sharpener, one was Wranglerstar and the other was Steve's Small Engine Saloon. If you are having any trouble figuring out how this sharpener works I recommend watching either of those guys.

Ma chaîne était vraiment usée, elle ne coupait plus. J'étais très très septique que cet outil fonctionne et en plus je suis vraiment pas un expert. Ça m'a pris 2min pour comprendre comment utiliser. Tellement facile que j'en croyais pas mes yeux. Après 20min d'utilisation j'avais une chaîne comme une neuve. Elle coupe à la perfection. Je conseil cet outil à tout le monde.

Déjà acheté dans un autre diamètre pour une autre tronçonneuse avec une chaîne différente. Je recommande à 200% ! Super pratique d’utilisation et efficace. Certes un peu cher mais ça vaut le coup.
