Awesome ankle tight next-to-skin baselayer. Very warm and supportive. Good compression. Great for running or just for wearing.
The Hot Chillys Mens Micro Elite Chamois Ankle Tight baselayer is an excellent product. I love wearing these because they are next-to-skin and don't add much bulk of clothing when I wear underneath my clothes. It keeps me worn during cold weather and gives me the compression I like and the confidence from the feeling of another layer of skin keeping my muscles tightly protected and warm. I feel I can do more without the feeling of my muscle might pull or something from the cold. The extra layer of skin in a sense keeps me from getting cold and freezing from the cold air.Wearing the baselayer while doing athletic workloads in cold weather feels like it is not cold at all. I've always used Hot Chillys brand product, and they have been very good and comfortable. I may try another brand one day, but it is hard to change if a brand works for you.I find that I don't need to layer much else if anything if I am wearing the Hot Chillys baselayer, so I can just wear my regular clothes on those cold days.I've found the construction to be solid. I've never had a Hot Chillys baselayer tear or rip, but I am careful when putting them on just in case.I recommend the Hot Chillys baselayer because the quality of the product is very good. I own a few pairs of these, and I trust the brand. They can be a little pricey, but Amazon seems to have them often at a good price. If you have Amazon Prime, the 2-day Free shipping is nice.

Excellent base layer
Very nice base layer for skiing. Great snug fit that keeps me toasty one those days when the temperature drops below 10 deg F. Without feeling baggy like the heavier and more expensive wool products. Washes well and dries quickly.

Excellent Choice for Light to Mid Weight Base Layer
I've been a fan of Hot Chillys for quite some time. I have a few pairs of ski tights that I wore for years. I also have an older version of a lightweight base layer that I loved wearing during the colder months. I searched for a replacement pair of tights. These are the ones! The MEC style has a higher rise, so their waist doesn't bunch up with the waists of my outerwear. Very comfortable and slick smooth for pulling on pants. Definitely warmer than my original base, but was what I wanted. I highly recommend these.

Love Hot Chillys
I bought these for my husband while he is deployed to Afghanistan during winter and he says they work great during the cold days. Even when they are doing activities the fabric wicks away the moisture. I use the Hot Chillys peach skins for snowboarding and love those too. They are the only thermals I will wear. Well worth the money.

My favorite ski pants
They seemed so expensive when I bought them, but have been worth it. Fit is excellent and comfort and warmth are perfect. Very durable, they feel like brand new even after two seasons of heavy use. I think I have some other base layers but I never wear them now that I have these. I'm saving up to buy another pair since they are expensive but worth it.Update Mar 2015: I still wear and wash these once each week during our 6-month ski season. After three seasons of use (about 78 washings) they still look and fit like they are new out of the box. They are still my favorite pants.

Very comfortable fit
Good body heat retention and moisture wicking. Comfortable fit, not too tight. Quick dry with little odor retention. A good product at a very reasonable price.

Perfect for layering in cold weather
I bought these for my husband who travels. He tested them out this week as he was in Chicago and the temps at times were below zero and that's not even including the chill index. I bought an extra large going off the previews and his waist that is a 38. He Said they are snug but comfortable under his pants. He said he stayed warm when out in the elements of the cold.

Very warm and smooth
Overall, I like them a lot, but they fit a lot tighter than I expected. They almost feel like compression stockings, but they are very warm and very smooth, so it's easy to slip on your outer layer. I like them a lot and would buy again. The one thing I found interesting though, is even though it is the male version, the front is smooth. No opening, if you know what I mean. So when nature calls, it requires a little more work than if there was your normal opening.
