In the photos, the edge of the plates appears brown but the outside of the bowls appear black. Is this accurate?

There is brown around the rim of the plates but the under side is black, like the outside of the bowls.

Why does it take so long for these to ship?

Broken pieces

Loved the crockery but 2 of the bowls were broken. Tried to contact them through email, phone & website to ask for replacement bowls, but to no avail. So now I have to send all of it back to Amazon
