Hits the heart about father and son movie if this new generation would ever watch

This is one of my all time favorite movies every few years.I like to watch it with someone new. It has it all, beautiful scenery great acting, it's funny, dramatic and sad.

Loved this movie. The setting was so beautiful and it’s a unique and moving story. Life is short but you can always make the wrongs right.

Kevin Kline is a very talented man. A great movie for all. To think of how life is so short and not be taken for granted. To see past what we think, but to say without walls or feelings of what truly means the most in the characters life and make amends without rushing through is spot on. It will awaken you soul. To think of what a person would do in such a small time frame.

I watch it every few years

This was a heartwarming movie. The storyline was really good. I recommend watching but not around children, as some of the themes and scenes would be too much for them to process and grasp.

This movie was definitely a tearjerker and had really great moments. Hayden’s character was relatable, and I would recommend this movie to everyone as a must watch. Product arrived on time and matched description. Have tissues on standby.

Good movie but very sad.

I enjoyed this movie immensely

I only bought this movie because Jena Malone was in it. I love Donnie Darko and especially Jena's part in it so i took a chance on a couple of other films with her in, this being one of them. I'm really glad i did as it's a very poignant emotional film. A film about life, relationships, love, family and mortality. BIG themes that run though all our lives. There are lighter moments through out though, the film has a fair bit of light and shade. I cried a lot watching this film (some thing guys seem to find hard to admit these days) . There are lots of little surprises and things you don't expect through out the film which add hugely to it's appeal for me. Jena Malone's character Alyssa is free thinking and a free spirit, Hayden Christensen plays the angry, mixed up son Sam and Kristin Scott Thomas and Kevin Kline play his separated parents. All of these parts are wonderfully played. Mary Steenburgen is also great. This film is one of those nice surprises for me, you take a chance and get a winner, i know i'll watch this film many many more times. Very moving and full of surprises.

un magifique film relatant une magnifique histoire orginale et symbolique tres joliment ménée par un casting sans fausse note, le tout sous une réalisation de grand talent. Kline est encore une fois etonnant et extremment touchant. A recommander grandement.

Den Film hab ich mir in erster Linie gekauft weil Hayden Christensen mitspielt. Auch in diesem Film beweist er, dass er viel mehr kann als mit einem Laserschwert das Böse zu bekämpfen.Diesen Film hab ich zu meinen persönlichen Lieblingsfilmen erkoren. Einfach wunder-wunderschön!George (Kevin Kline)ist todkrank, sein letztes langgehegtes Vorhaben ist es, sein Haus neu aufzubauen. Noch lebt er in einer Bruchbude, vielmehr der Garage neben dem Haus, ohne fliessend Wasser, ohne Dusche. George ist geschieden, seine Exfrau (Christin Scott Thomas) lebt mit ihrer neuen Familie und dem mit George gemeinsamen Sohn Sam (Hayden Christensen) im nobleren Teil der Stadt.Der 16jährige Sam hasst seine Mutter, seinen Vater, die ganze Welt, ist ein Sonderling und drogensüchtig. Seine Mutter, mit dem rebellischen Jugendlichen völlig überfordert, bittet George Sam über den Sommer zu sich zu nehmen.Georg nimmt den widerwilligen Sam unter seine Fittiche. Gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn beginnt er mit den Bauarbeiten.Es ist einfach wunderschön anzusehen, wie langsam aus dem anfangs rebellischen Sam ein zugänglicher Jugendlicher wird. Die Szenen zwischen Vater und Sohn sind toll und glaubhaft, die Chemie zwischen Kevin Kline und Hayden Christensen stimmt einfach!Der Film hat einfach alles - Tragik, Liebe und das richtige Mass an Humor.
