LOVE The Amp Power, Still Hasn't Burnt Out And Can Handle Being Pushed To The Limit

Great receiver, but please read if remote is an important feature
I was looking to replace a set of computer speakers and while reading reviews of various speakers came across several suggestions of people saying the best set-up is a receiver/amp and set of book shelf speakers. I wanted to go that route, but didn’t have a lot of space on my desk for a big amplifier, so I decided to get this one after reading several reviews. I wanted a compact receiver that didn’t take up a lot of room and one that had enough power, so I took a chance on this one. I connected a good set of book shelf speakers to it, and I am not disappointed. There is plenty of power to push the Polk Audio book shelf speakers I bought and is a MAJOR upgrade from the decent computer speakers I had previously (which got great reviews). I will never go back to just having a set of computer speakers even if they are highly rated and were like my previous speakers that had a volume knob with adjustable bass and a separate subwoofer. There’s just no comparison to an amplifier and a good set of book shelf speakers. I haven’t tried the MP3, Bluetooth, SD card or USB features yet, so can’t review those options. I didn’t buy this amp for those features, but if I do use them later I will update the review. I did update the review below after trying the Bluetooth feature. Now here is the one negative I have seen. The remote has volume buttons, but they only seem to work when the receiver is in the MP3/BT input mode (Input Selector knob). I can see the volume numbers increasing on the digital read out display when the input selector knob is in the MP3/BT position, but other than that mode, the volume buttons do NOT turn up the volume.I reached out to Pyle support to ask if I was doing something wrong and they said they would send out a new remote. After some confusion, they did send out a new remote and it was what I suspected previously. The volume buttons only work in the MP3/BT mode. Not sure why, but that’s what I’ve come to discover having 2 different remotes. Not sure why Pyle support couldn’t tell me that previously, but unless I’m doing something wrong that is the case. What's also strange is you can push power on the remote and on the display it says powering off, but the receiver doesn't power off. The display goes blank, but I can still hear everything with the Input Selector knob in the AUX position. When you click power on (from the kinda off stage) it says welcome, so it is recognizing the remote. Definitely strange, so I wouldn't count on the remote doing much. It’s within reach for me, so the remote isn’t a deal breaker or that important. The remote was going to be a bonus for me as the other receiver I was looking at didn’t come with a remote anyway. Wanted to mention it on this review in case the remote and ability to control the volume from across the room when in any mode other than MP3/BT is a deal breaker. I definitely recommend this amp/receiver for anyone looking for a compact amp with good power and clean sound.Tip, if you hear humming or anything coming from the speakers with nothing playing, turn down the volume of your source and manually turn up the volume on the amp. Example, if connected to your computer, turn down the volume of your computer and turn up the volume on the receiver. I usually have my computer at 50-60% volume. Any higher and you will hear some hum or noise.Update: 11/17/2017I used the receiver (PDA6BU) to stream music from my Android phone via Bluetooth and it worked flawlessly. I can confirm the volume on the remote works to turn up/down the Bluetooth signal, but it does not control the main volume of the amp. You still have to adjust the main volume manually with the volume knob. Again, not a big deal for me, but if you saw a remote listed in the features you may expect the remote to control all aspects of the receiver and it just doesn't. Remote has some uses, but would not let it be the reason you buy this amp. I still recommend the amp/receiver.

Not Impressed
I bought this unit to go with a couple Polk Audio Atrium 6 outdoor speakers along with 14ga speaker wire. The Initial bluetooth paring was seamless which was initially a good sign. The initial sound was great when testing out the first connection before mounting it. I took my phone 15 ft away from the receiver to check the bluetooth and the music would stutter and glitch in/out even with direct line of site from my phone to the Bluetooth antenna. I figured that there may be some nearby interference so I left my phone next to this unit while I continued with the install as one can buy a bluetooth extender to plug into the extra audio input methods for the bluetooth issue. I got one speaker hooked up in place and all sounded more or less great when I re-tested it out with my phone next to the unit. I then wired the second speaker and tested it as well and the second speaker had some fuzzy sounds to it no matter what. I rechecked all the connections and all were secure. I swapped which speaker went to which speaker connection and the second connection regardless of speaker was fuzzy. I swapped around to test out if the speaker or wires were the issue and connection 1 regardless sounded ok. I then rechecked the wired path of the audio connections to make sure I was far away from any power cables and adjusted as needed to make sure. I then played with the volume vs balance vs base vs treble and no matter what, the second connection was fuzzy. I let it play for about an hr while I ate lunch inside and came back out to both speakers being fuzzy. I tried some smaller speakers from by old boom box and they too sounded fuzzy. I had high hopes but there is something internal of the unit that was off from the start and progressively got worse over literally a couple hrs. I repacked everything to as received and will be returning this unit for something else.
