Great fridge.
I started semi truck driving so found out needed a fridge to avoid using regular ice cooler having soggy food so received fridge about 3 weeks ago as of this review. Purchased 50qt version. What I liked was it had wheels and baskets making it easier to move from my car to semi, can get baskets out while loading fridge to truck then just put baskets back in. I was surprised by the space, I loaded 17 days worth of frozen food in ziploc bags in right side freezer and 18 yogurts and sandwiches on left fridge side and still had plenty of room. Really quiet. I figured I can use for camping also. Wheels are thin, best to use on asphalt don't recommend for rough surfaces. It fits great in a Chevy Sonic back seat. In these weeks it has stood all travel bumps and still running great. Have loaded with drinks and holding up. Initial set up was plug and play, reached desired temp in about 40 min for fridge, freezer took a bit longer. Won't cool both sides at same time, will go back and forth between sides. In some instances you will see temp go bit up from one set but will regulate on it's own again without affecting your food. You need to download app from play store (android in my case) to use bluetooth function, no instructions included. Definetely recommend.

Great Portable Freezer/Cooler Field Tested For a Year
I have used this portable refrigerator/freezer for almost a year now. It is great. While in the car, I run it on battery power from the car. Then when checking into a hotel, I switch to ac wall power. It works great. It maintains the cold very well. The cooler side keeps drinks and snacks cold, like consistent 34-36F. The freezer side keeps things frozen consistently at -15 to-10F. While traveling on the road trip, I was able to purchase items and transport them frozen to my home. Being able to convert from a divided temperature unit to a full freezer unit allowed me to purchase additional products. Once home, I used the unit as an additional freezer storage chest. It works perfectly. I highly recommend the 53Qt LG Unit. I am very pleased.

2025**UPDATE*** AND 4 1/2 STARS.
2/2025 .. After over four years this fridge STILL works like new. We use it a couple months a year and all I do is blow the dust out of the vent area when it's dirty. My only complaint is I can't find a working app anymore. Doesn't affect the fridge however. My first picture shows the only two top and bottom styrofoam inserts that came in the box. Nothing around the sides. The next two pictures show the holes punched through the side cardboard. This was shipped from GA to FL by UPS and I would bet the damage came during the trip from China to the US, not by UPS. At any rate the fridge wasn't even scratched and it seems to be working just fine. Initial startup was using the dual zone, fridge at 42deg and freezer at 20deg with a starting temp of 77deg on max cooling, 110vac adapter. Total time to reach set temp was about 45 minutes with a completely empty fridge. A full fridge uses less power because there's less air space to cool. I had thermometers in the bottom of both sections. The differential between on and off for each section was 4deg and the actual thermometer readings were: Fridge 32-36deg on/off and freezer 15-19deg on/off. I haven't tried the eco mode but about the only noise comes from the cooling fan for the compressor and it's not much to me. I then pulled out the divider and ran it at 35deg and it was a pretty accurate temperature compared to the display. The lid closes nicely with a positive "snap" in place. The led lights are nice and in the middle between the divider so you have light in each section. The wheels are a hard rubber tread, not plastic, and the handles have magnets in them so they stay put against the sides. The left handle is a double folding length so you don't have to stoop to pull it around, and I'm 6' tall. It appears to be well made and with the LG compressor, I'm expecting some longevity out of it. I'm sure it could use more insulation but they all could, at the expense of taking more room. I downloaded the Alpicool app and it hooked up and worked perfectly. I also cut the dc power plug off the cord and attached my own plug that plugs into my heavy 8ga. wire in my camper so there's absolute minimum power drop. Then I added a plug to the "cigarette" plug cable in case I ever need to plug it into a 12vdc accessory plug in the car. ***UPDATE*** Three weeks vacation and this cooler didn't miss a lick. Maintained temp settings the entire time. Cooler set at 42 (actual temp 34-38) freezer set at 20 (actual 15-19). Made hard ice every day with two trays near the top of the freezer. Good hard frozen ice, not "wet" barely frozen ice. Turned the freezer down to 10 deg the last couple of days after buying some ice cream sandwiches and it did the job fine. The wife loves it so that makes it worth the price. The lighted display made a great night light for those late night bathroom trips and the only noise being the fan, it didn't bother our sleep. It sat right below us in our truck camper. It's proven to be even better than we had hoped and WAY better than the "barely works" 3way fridge we threw away. Now the longevity of the LG compressor is our only question. Update 6/2022 Many months of use and still flawless operation. Happy campers for sure.

Broke after one weekend
Got one weekend out of it before it died. When it worked it seemed to be pretty efficient. However plugged it in for another road trip, it ran well for a day and then went to grab a drink and the display was blank and it was obviously warm and dead. Checked the battery and the fuse, both were good, cable was was good. Itโs definitely the electronics on the unit itself. Might try to see if itโs something easy to fix, but just a heads up, there may be some faulty units out there.

Loved it until it quit. UPDATE, I messed up
Bought this on March 5th 2021. Used it everyday and it worked flawlessly... for ONE year. Went to get something out of it today and seen that everything I had frozen, which was a lot because I had just bought groceries the day before was now thawed and ruined. About $60 dollars worth of meat. Also ruined was my next 2 shots of Humira I get from the Veteran Administration for rheumatoid arthritis. This wasn't just a neat gadget for camping. I used this EVERYDAY as my sole source for keeping my food and medicine cool/frozen. The display is no longer working. It lights up for about 2 seconds when I plug it in but then goes out. The power brick seems to be okay cause the green led is lit. Shot craps 44 days after the 1 year warranty expired (of course). This is VERY upsetting and depressing because I'm a senior living on a VERY limited fixed income and unless Alpicool can make this right there's no way I could ever possibly afford to buy a new one. It took over a year for me to save up to buy this one and money's even tighter now. For the year it worked I absolutely loved it but when I spend this much money on something I expect to get more than a year of use out of it! Before today I would have given this 5 stars. And if Alpicool stands behind their product and makes this right it'll STILL get 5 stars but until then I can only give it 1 star. And should Alpicool not stand behind their product I can promise them I will cost them I'll cost them much, MUCH more than what I paid for it in bad reviews and word of mouth in the VanLife community which is a major market for their products. Good, bad or otherwise I promise I'll come back and let everyone know how Alpicool handles this. I really, really want to go back to bragging on this! UPDATE; I originally gave this a 1 star. Updating to 5 stars. I did not know that the power button had to be depressed "for a few seconds" BEFORE it would power up. After I discovered that, it powered right up and hasn't missed a lick in over 4 years. I use this everyday as my only freezer and it's worked FLAWLESSLY for over 4 years with no problems. It's worked SO good, I'm about to buy another one and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a portable freezer.

Absolutely great for long trips
After reading reviews and considering price and features, I purchased this product for an extended trip out west. I was a little cynical that it would be able to maintain the temperatures as well as it did, especially the frozen side since my travel coincided with hot environmental temperatures. The product worked as described and I am very happy. There was only one incident - described below - that gave me pause. Before taking on your trip, plug it in the night before, set the temperatures, place in vehicle, then fill with your food items. Since I was in a car and tried to limit moving it in and out, I purchased a 100 foot extension cord so it could be plugged in to 110. The cord for the lighter plug in was plenty long to reach from the back seat to the front. To keep the cooler level during the trip, I placed wood in the seat with a small piece of plywood. To keep the cooler out of the sun, I used a car shade. PROS - Maintained temperature for both sides. It kept fruit and ice frozen. Kept milk and water nice and cold. - Easy to set up and use - Spacious enough to purchase food and keep water cold so as not to constantly eat at restaurants. CONS After using it, I do not really have any true cons, just being picky; however, during the drive through the mountains that basically had switch backs, the unit stopped working. I was going to leave it in the car but carried it in the house, plugged it in to various outlets and it still did not come back on. I left it unplugged and turned off for a couple of hours and it came back on. I can only surmise that the constant back and forth in the mountains affected the compressor. I would suggest if you are traveling through the mountains with many sharp curves, turn off and leave off for a while just as it said when arriving new. The only true con is that there is only one lid (but I understand why). So when you open to get items out of the frig side and leave the lid up for an extended period of time, the freezer side is exposed. I brought along extra 1 inch foam to insulate the cooler during the drive. I placed the insulation over the freezer side while the lids was up - perfect!

Zero regrets
Dude this is amazing. I went on a nationwide drive about in my minivan to see sights and visit friends and family flung afar. It kept everything just like it is suppose to. It made a road trip economical for self feeding and healthy options. I also left it plugged in while I caught a train for a few days. While it had run for 2 days on car battery previously at some point it shut itself off to protect my battery which is great considering I'm an older disabled woman without a soul in the world able to come help me out or enough money to throw at such problems. I love this thing and only wish it was larger.

Door
Works as advertised. However the lid is extremely difficult to open. My wife is handicapped and itโs almost impossible for her to open the cooler. Poor design on the lid
