Good Striker
+ Tons of sparks+ Super Easy to use+ Price is good+ Comes with spare flints- Does not catch dryer lintI know I'm kind of a weirdo, but I camp a lot, and it bothers me when people start fires with a gallon of gas or whatever, so I wanted to try and be more "hardcore" or something about it. I realize that the cave people didn't have one of these to start their fires but it just seems more fun/neat this way.Anyway, I was incredibly disappointed that this product, regardless of the number of strikes by multiple people, failed to catch dryer lint on fire. I'm having trouble even understanding why this didn't work, and perhaps next time I will try with pinestraw or something, I just really thought that would work. It produces tons of sparks, but had absolutely no impact on the completely dry dryer lint. So, while this failed completely for my alternative use, it does succeed admirably at doing with it is supposed to do, which is creat sparks, thus the 4 stars.

meh
It is harder to use then ones I've used before, I haven't used it a lot but the fling is easy to knock out. Also, does not seem to work on a gas stove, if anyone is curious. Not sure if that's because the spark isn't hot enough or maybe just my aim... I don't know if other similar products would work on a gas stove. It does make sparks, but I wouldn't pick this one if you plan to use it often.

I trust will communicate to me and I will happily expand on this
This is a sleeper product for some ..The reason I got it is to start fires in my wood stove using a propane old time soldering torch.. No kindling required.. Most that read this may not get it ..sorry.. but if you curious about this speak up .. Amazon, I trust will communicate to me and I will happily expand on this . It really is part of a crazy system I use here that works..

Great Construction.
I purchased this to mount to the side of my old Coleman camp stove (without insta-start) lights it great every time. I attached a small chain to my stove and glued a magnet to the back of this, now it mounts in the stove and I don't have to worry about it walking away, much easer to use than a lighter or matches, lights well even in the cold.

Erratic operation caused by poor pressure between striker and flint.
I bought this because it looked a lot like a striker I had some years ago. It doesn't work as well, so I'm tossing it and finding a better model. There is insufficient pressure between the flint and the striker, so that a squeeze doesn't always result in a spark. When I'm trying to light my stove-top burners I want the first squeeze to make a strike, because I want to get my hand in and out of there before a lot of gas has come out. I also don't want to breathe the gas, which has some harmful impurities besides just methane.

Good sparks !
We used to have a self-lighting stove top but one day a large pot (boiling a turkey) boiled over and shorted out the igniters. Well, this gadget reminds me of what we used to have in chemistry lab (HS/college) to ignite the Bunsen burners. It works fine and will last a lot longer than those butane lighters.
