Work great, dbounce is controllable
They work great, with ( interrupts) it has zero lag and catches every edge. Use (no interrupts/interrupts) to have insanely precise control. Didn't find bounce to be an issue..... *However the pins are fragile and break off, needed to solder pins that fit into the breadboard.

Good value as an inexpensive rotary encoder
They work well, but as a mechanical switch encoder type, they do have some contact bounce. The solution is to use a good driver that is designed to work with these devices, or take a look at some example code in Arduino or Raspberry PI reference designs.

The rotary switches are mechanically electrically noisy, but otherwise work as described
These took a lot of experimentation with s/w algorithms to overcome the noisy switch bounce. But they were inexpensive and you get what you pay for

Parts all worked.
The parts when viewed on an oscilloscope all worked. Nice to have knobs included.

They work for simple DIY projects
I'm satisfied with them, but they came loose in a plastic container with scratches and bent pins. It doesn't sit well in a breadboard, but you can make it work as long as you don't tilt it or bump it.

Mid quality at best.
These are electrically noisy encoders. I used my RIGOL to try to analyze why. I took one apart and discovered the what I believe to be short cuts they took in the design of these. After all this why did I still give them 4 stars? Build quality (not design) and they doe mostly work and they were inexpensive. You get what you pay for. I knew this when I ordered them.

Worked perfectly with a Keeb.io BDN9 9-key macro pad build
My son wanted a small macro pad like the type I build for myself. The new BDN9 at keeb.io supports rotary encoders in the upper corners. When I bought my kits keeb.io did not have the encoders in stock. I ordered these and they fit and function perfectly. My son now has the ability to control the volume on his PC. I also installed the VIA firmware so he can change the keycodes on the fly. These also came in a nice plastic storage box which is much nicer than just a generic static bag.
