Perfect - Works Straight out of the Box
I needed this as a Debugger for a Raspberry Pi project that I needed to use the RS-485 Bus. I could use this straight away on the Virtual Comm Port and could use a TTY Terminal to monitor the bus and Squirt Data into it if required. Good Value for money and a great tool if you use RS-485. Screw Terminals are better so you aren't constricted to one connector.

Works perfectly
Used this to connect a Linux box up to a Fox H1 Hybrid Inverter. I can now see all of my solar/battery data easily in Home Assistant. No drivers needed, works with a standard Ubuntu install right out of the box.

Fully Supported CP2102 Chip Set
The most impressive thing about this USB to RS485 cable is that you can get drivers for virtually any OS from Silicon Labs website. Also, SI offers lots of support in the form of SDK's, community and examples for this chip set. Easily adds a RS485 port to virtually any SBC or PC with a spare USB port. Love it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For those who still have old equipment with the RS485 standard. Very recommended.
I ordered this adapter to connect a Raspberry Pi to my laptop, in order to control various devices. But this adapter can control many devices that have the RS485 communication standard, such as industrial devices, video surveillance cameras, automatic doors, alarms, etc. It is also an exclusive option for those who still have old equipment with the RS485 standard, because nowadays the new computers only bring the USB interface. Very recommended.

This cable was not what was quoted it had the wrong connection for the RS485 connectio end

I needed to connect my charge controller (EPEVER MPPT 30a) to my boats computer. This cable did the trick. Linux had a driver for it. I used signalk with modbus plugin to read the data and grafana to display it.
