Knife Set, 13-Piece Kitchen Knife Set with Block Sharp Chef Knife Set, German High Carbon Stainless Steel Knife Block Set with Beech Block with Black Oxide Stainless Steel Base

It took a while to decide to buy these, but I’m very pleased with this set. I’m not a chef, and though I do cook at home 90% of the time, dropping $$$$ at Williams-Sonoma on a knife set that needs its own insurance policy wasn’t happening. The handles are weighty, grip perfectly in your hand, and definitely look different than those of a standard run-of-the-mill riveted knife. The different handle design is what initially caught my eye; it isn’t a gimmick, they do indeed work well ergonomically. I do not put any knives in the dishwasher (it looks like some reviewers have, based on the pictures). The blades are surgically sharp and tipped. If you’re holding them, you’d better be ready to cut something. They cut through vegetables like a dream! Note that there is no bolster on these blades, which will make sharpening easier. The wood block looks very modern and is sturdy. The slits are grooved specifically to hold the knives in straight lines for a neater appearance when stored. NOTE: I wound up removing the metal base so that the block could sit on the angle instead of being vertical (you have to remove the neoprene pad to get to the screws). This works well for storing the block on my countertop, as the upper cabinets do not impede removing a knife when needed. Overall, this set exceeded my expectations and fits my needs perfectly. I plan to get the set of additional 4 steak knives to go along with these when the set comes back in stock.

No these are not the most expensive knives but they definitely make you think twice before deciding to buy. I’m so glad I did. These are truly great. I knew my old knives were dull but I don’t think I’ve used knives that are this effortless before. I do wish the knife block was slanted or shorter. Not something you normally would mention but the standard cabinet height doesn’t allow you to take a knife out without pulling the block on its side. Not a dealbreaker people it takes one second. But for the designers please adjust for future purchasers.

Ended up getting this knife set for $175, plus 5% off using amex prime business card. Incredible knife set for the price. Hopefully they come back in stock at the $250 price as well worth it. I suspect once the reviews come in the price will be raised close to the $400 range.

Excellent product!

They say they have a warranty on them, but once we noticed one of our knives had a crack in it a couple months in to owning them, we reached out to them for assistance and received NO response. Now we have several cracks in several of the knives.

Love the feel of the knives - they have some weight to them. I am not fond of the knife block - it is a little awkward to remove knives.

I got an open box or a returned item but the quality is top-notch. Once you get used to the handle, it operates like a charm. Very sharp and suitable for small or medium hand.

We love these knives! The tricky part was finding a nice looking set that didn't sacrifice the ergonomic functional use and this nailed it right on the head! They of course arrive extremely sharp and ready to go. We picked up a wet stone sharpener as well for when we need to sharpen them again. The knife block did arrive with a small crack in it (perhaps from shipping) however the manufacturer was fantastic and quick to send us a replacement :) AAA+++

Grundsätzlich ganz schick aber dann wars das schon. Aber preislich muss man auch fairerweise realistisch bleiben. Vorteile: Design, Optik und Preis / Leistung Nachteile: Verarbeitung und Qualitätskontrolle ist nicht überzeugend, bei Verpackung der Messer sind Beschädigungen vorprogramiert, manche Messer drehen sich mit der Schneide nach oben wenn man sie ablegt, Schärfe ist ausreichend für den Alltag jedoch viele Messer haben noch einen Grat beim Schliff, Härtegrad dürfte eher weich sein, da man den Grat schwer wegbekommt gefühlt und Messer sind deutlich kleiner als man eranen würde. Es ist schwer zu sagen welches Messer man zieht, weil alle sehr knapp zusammen verstaut sind, spätestens wenns die Frau zurücklegt ist ein Schwertkamp vorprogramiert :-) Fazit wer nicht allzu kritisch ist oder einen 2tes Messerset für Besuch und Co benötigt wie wir dann kann man es behalten sofern alles unbeschädigt ankommt.
