This magical series of short stories takes us from this world to the next by following the life and times, often hard but always meaningful, of the animals that have spoken to Karen. Her first chapter reads like a real-life version of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. In it her encounter with a dying gull named Watuka gives Karen her own wings to “fly to her human promise”. It takes courage to write this book about her discourse with animals. Make no mistake, this is no Doctor Doolittle. These stories read like fables from a spiritual intuitive who has a gift to share. There is more to the human animal relationship than meets the eye and Karen is able to share that with us in a lovely, melodic writing style that is almost homily, like when Gulliver a pygmy hedgehog gives her a spiritual edification on aloneness vs loneliness. My only wish is that she gave us more of what’s on the other side. Perhaps in her next book, I hope.

I thoroughly enjoyed & recommend this book! It was fun & interesting to read the stories of Karen’s experiences & encounters with various animals. The way she relayed the impact on her personally and her family was so honest in the emotion. The pure appreciation for the opportunity to experience the happiness & sadness of each moment was truly admirable and I am thankful for the journey she shared. I look forward to her next book with great anticipation!

This book is a very sweet book. I look at all animals so differently now. I love the way the Author interacts with people and animals. It's a very easy read, and don't want to put the book down. It's also a good book for all ages.Loved it!!

I loved every page of the book . I laughed , I cried and I could hear the author talking to the subjects that were communicating with her . I have never been touched by a book as I have been by this one .

I loved this book! After receiving the book I started reading and could not put it down as each chapter led to another interesting story. The author has certainly had a life of discovery and amazing animals that she describes so well.

Heartwarming stories that made me smile, laugh and cry. A great reminder that all creatures have a special place in this world and if we are lucky enough our hearts .
