Stops serger-wiggles COLD and cuts noise down, too
I tried a towel, I tried a padded placemat. My serger still wanted to take off every time I used it... and forget leaving scissors or anything else on the table—they were diving to the floor before I remembered to grab 'em. Broke a beautiful pair of snips that way.A dedicated chunk of felt seemed silly but I gave it a try and it is *perfect.* What a shock absorber! Shakes are minimized. No more traveling machine. Scissors and pincushions don't jump off nearly as easily. And since there's a buffer between serger and table, the noise is cut in half as well.If you've got a budget for sewing notions, and your sewing machine or your serger is jumpy or noisy, make this your next "notion." Like poor lighting, machine rattle-and-shake is one of those things we put up with, when making it better would improve the overall sewing experience so much.

Exactly what I needed.
I have a powerful sewing machine but it’s a bit older so it’s not nearly as quiet as newer models. With the vibration through my sewing table I swear sometimes sounds like a jackhammer. Also, I recently moved from a house to an apartment building. To top it off, I do most of my sewing late in the evening and into the night. I don’t know for sure that my neighbors could hear it but I didn’t want to take the chance that I was disturbing anyone. This mat exceeded my hopes for dampening vibration noise. I’m amazed at how much quieter it makes my sewing. Absolutely worth every penny.

Pad helps but doesn’t completely eliminate vibrations
I bought this b/c I was getting a lot of vibration from my sewing machines and serger. My machines are: brother se400, singer 4423, and Juki mo644d. I’m only mentioning this b/c I know some of the nicer machines prob don’t vibrate as much and might have larger bases. The table I use is a lifetime 80161 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XW5G4W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I was getting a lot of vibration when I increase my sewing speed from medium to full throttle. I found this pad and it did help with the vibration b/c now I can Sew at medium to medium fast without the machine flying off the table but I still can’t have my machines run full throttle. Overall, I’m happy the pad helped but it doesn’t get 5 stars b/c I still can’t use my machines at max speed.

Works great
Works great. I use folding table that is not very good and this pad cancelling noise and prevents vibration.

Great concept
This wasn't as effective as I thought it would be. It does help somewhat, but my wool pressing mat does a better job of muffling the machine noise. This may be better suited for a sturdier table that does not vibrate when sewing.
