As a specialist structural repair company, we were surprised how light these Acrow props were and initially, we were not convinced how much support they would provide but having used them on several projects, there is no doubt: they are strong enough to cope with very heavy walls.

Just be aware it has a job to do therfore its not light - we may need help to put in place. That said for my job its really working it was easy to set up and does what it needs to do

Have not used them yet. They look and feel sturdy.

Describing these props as “Heavy Duty” is nonsense. My photos show a genuine acrow of similar dimensions (left) alongside one of the two I just bought. The real one weighs 17.4Kg, the green one 9.7Kg. So the tubing is clearly of a much lighter gauge. The locking pins that fit through the upper section are 16mm diameter on the red one, compared to just 12mm on the green one. The screw collar is poorly finished on the green one and is very notchy. There are several Amazon listings for these distinctive green props – all seem to originate from a Birmingham-based marketplace seller using a variety of different names. Do yourself a favour, avoid these and buy your acrow from a bona-fide builders merchant.

I have a pair of these for some DIY build, quite robust and strong.

Done what it’s meant to.. good product.. it did get delivered to the wrong house but that’s not a issue with the product.
