🤠 The Quest for El Dorado is an awesome racing game with a well designed deck building mechanic and modular board. Every time you play you can build an entirely different track of jungles, rivers, towns, and caves and test out different deck building strategies for great variety. It’s SUPER simple—cards are used for traveling, purchasing, or abilities—and it’s easy to teach and quick to learn. The Heroes and Hexes expansion adds great content and more variability, but the Golden Temple stand-alone expansion can be passed on. Turns are fast paced with little down time, and the racing element always get my heart racing!

El mejor juego de mesa que he comprado hasta ahora, tanto que decidí comprar la primera expansión, la cual es también muy buena.-Calidad de los componentes. La calidad de los componentes es excelente, trae 6 tableros grandes y 2 chicos, modulables y de doble cara, los meeples son de madera pintada, trae 8 en total aunque son dos por cada color ya que 4 es el máximo de jugadores que soporta, las partidas son tan rápidas o tan extendidas cómo uno quiera ya que todos los tableros tienen doble cara y están organizados alfabéticamente por nivel de dificultad, las cartas son tamaño mini euro de 44x 68 CM, la primera vez consideré que eran demasiado pequeñas pero después de unas partidas pienso que tienen el tamaño perfecto ya que todas las cartas deben ser visibles para todos los jugadores por el sistema de mercado que maneja el juego y ya que el tablero ocupa casi toda la mesa es importante que las cartas no abarquen mucho espacio (especialmente si se juega con la expansión)-Jugabilidad.El motor principal del juego es la construcción de mazos, en el comienzo se reparten 8 cartas a cada jugador (todos los jugadores empiezan con las mismas) estás cartas tienen diferentes colores que permiten avanzar casillas de ese mismo color y el propósito del juego es llegar a la meta atravesando todo el tablero mediante el uso de las cartas, lo que lo hace interesante es que todas las cartas sirven una segunda función que es la de usarse para comprar cartas del "mercado" que son mejores y permiten avanzar más casillas por turno, hay muchas estrategias diferentes que se pueden emplear para ganar-Conclusión.Es un juego perfecto para casi cualquier edad, muy fácil de entender y con un tema muy interesante y bien empleado, el arte de las ilustraciones tanto de la caja como de las cartas es muy bueno, aunque cabe mencionar que hay una versión más reciente con arte de Vincent Dutrait (artista de juegos de mesa muy famoso al parecer) que representa un problema para los aficionados de esta versión ya que a la fecha hay solo 2 expansiones que han sido lanzadas para esta versión y 2 más que se han lanzado para la nueva versión, una de ellas también disponible para esta versión pero la otra es completamente nueva y hasta la fecha exclusiva para la versión de Dutrait, además se rumora que Ravensburg actualizará su versión con el nuevo arte de Dutrait así que los que tenemos esta versión nos quedaremos bailando y tendremos que quedarnos sin más expansiones o volver a comprar todo en la nueva versión.

Great deck building game that is easy to learn and suitable for kids too,from about age 8 and up.After a few plays you realise strategy and how you build,trim and add to your deck becomes essential to win.There is a little bit of luck involved but mostly strategy and thinking and planning ahead wins most games.if you(and the kids) like Ticket to Ride,Catan,Splendor,then you will enjoy this game.Also,before buying I had read reviews of the game where some components like instructions and the cards of the game were in German.So before buying,I sent Ravensburger via Amazon a messageThey responded promptly and assured me it was all I English....and it was.So,highly recommend!!

It's just a lot of fun. One of the funest in my collection so far. I love racing games because it's easy to see whose in first and where the other players are. It makes a more exciting game. For example, Ticket to Ride is a lot of fun, but it's not as intense because a lot of times it's not obvious whose going to come in first place because of the score is added up at the end of the game.

Quest for El Dorado is itself gold. A fantastic race game that uses light deck building as the driving force. Modular map tiles make for a fantastic amount of variety. You can fine tune this game to play at any difficulty. Build a quick easy map to play with your kids then rearange things to make a long difficult slog to puzzle out with your game group. We played this 10+ times already in the first two weeks. It is so simple to teach and get playing. Plays great with all player counts (2,3 and 4) but 2 and 4 are the most fun (we have some house rules to ratchet up the 3 player game) 2 players is great because you are each moving two meeples so you have to split your moves and manouver both your adventurers. 4 players is great because the map gets just as clogged up with meeple and the cards in the market disapear quickly.Great game, highly recomend it. While it is not “deep” it is endlessly engaging with constant decision making. Not really any player interaction but the turns are fast and you are always paying attention to what everyone else is doing.
