Can this model attach to the older model?

I can't speak specifically for your "older model" but I've connected these lights with some I bought from a different brand a few years ago. I just made sure the connector pin and voltage was the same.

there might be on the strip, 4 metal things disconnected. try putting them back together and it should work. they are labeled r g b
