GROHE35111000 GrohSafe 3.0 Pressure Balance Valve Rough with Flush Plug with PEX Crimp Outlets with Service Stops, Unfinished

Anti-scald shower valves have been around for a while but if you have an older home you probably don't have one. We've had three Grohe anti-scald valves installed and can't recommend them enough. No more burst of hot water while showering when someone flushes a toilet, or getting chilled with cold water when someone runs the washing machine. These are great for safety but the also make for a much more reliably comfortable shower.Grohe makes well engineered quality products. The last a long time and are easy to maintain. Best thing is the performance. This GrohSafe valve works flawlessly and pairs well with the cartridge and trim kit we purchased. I even have a Hansgrohe Rainshower handheld spray and we have zero complaints, a good shower and water savings without sacrificing anything.

Plumber installed it so I can’t speak to the installation. But it is working great with the Concetto valve trim in our remodeled bathroom!

Received this valve via Vine, as I'm redoing my bathroom myself. (I'm no Bob Vila, but I do okay... eventually...) Called up two plumbers, who were going to charge me $750 - $1000 to install it (!!!) Instead I figured out how to do it myself via some YouTube videos. I used SharkBite fittings for everything - from my old copper pipes to the PEX pipe, from the PEX to the valve, etc. Super easy.Anyways, the valve itself seems high quality - it's just a big old chunk of solid brass. The instructions were fairly easy to understand - the toughest part is figuring out how far inward from the shower wall surface to mount the valve, but it comes with a handy plastic guide, and I eventually figured it out. All the fittings threaded on nicely, and there was a brass cap included for closing off the tub outlet (I only have a shower.)This valve does NOT come with a cartridge. I did install the cartridge that came with my faucet handle, and it seems to be working well thus far - slid right into place and tightened down with one bonnet nut. Easy.Obviously, the quality of the faucet handles that go with this valve also figure into the value/function of this valve. I haven't gotten that far yet - need to tile the shower walls first - but we shall see. The handle seems very nice thus far, just looking at it in the box...I'll update if I have any issues, but so far so good!

Can't remove flush plug, won't budge but more importantly this 'German' company now makes useless junk in China like everybody else. The machining work on hot and cold water connectors of the valve is ... subpar. Jagged edges, opening are too small, not sure what this is supposed to be.

purchased as a replacement for another brand. Well made, easy installation for competent DIYer or your plumber. Performs smoothly and fully functionally when combined with pressure balance valve core & finish assembly 19595001, also from Grohe. Very satisfied with outcome!

I had a plumber install these valves and the service stops are both defective. Neither one of them stops the water once the system is pressurized so the plumber had to cap the water lines until we can get them replaced. They are trying to get them replaced by a Grohe parts dealer.
