Review: Perfect tool for removing a pressed on Ender 3 Pro extruder gear - I needed to remove the extruder gear from my Creality Ender 3 Pro printer in order to perform a modification. This worked perfectly to pull off the extruder gear with no damage to the stepper motor. Very good price as well. Review: Not "Strong and durable steel" - probably the weakest steel I've come across. went to pull a press on gear off. after some resistance. I tried heating the gear. same resistance. tried freezing it. same resistance. so I went and kept screwing the puller down. and watched as the "strong and durable steel" bent. with zero movement on the gear or shaft. took it to my buddies place and he popped it right off with his true steel one. if this is steel. it's very light steel. and not magnetic. kinda like alluminum. which it bent like alluminum. idk if I was sent the wrong one. but this was a waste of time and money.

I have always wanted one of these
Works as well as you imagine it would. Used it to remove the gear from a Power Wheels motor. Excellent tool.

Not the Best
Bought this in hopes to do some repairs on my 3D printer. Not great quality. Cannot get enough leverage. Good price, but you get what you pay for.

Cheap but it gets the job done?
The extruder gear on my Ender 3 had worn down (and caused me so many headaches while I was trying to print I was going crazy) so I ordered some replacement gears. The problem was I needed a way to get the old one off. I didn't want to use a dremel, so I thought the next best thing would be a gear puller. Most of the ones I found online were for larger automotive use ones, so I was beyond excited when I came across this one for RC Motors. It arrived quickly (same time as the new gears) and I got to work. If you try to do this by hand alone you will fail. You can see the bottom of the puller where the cheaper aluminum began to bow. However once I used two wrenches to get better leverage (one on the body and one on the handle) things became a bit easier. I think this would work well for other gears where they aren't stuck on with loc-tite or something, but if you want to use this for almost any other gears I would suggest using something to get better leverage on it.

Fails at it's job
there are multiple offerings for gear pullers like this here on Amazon. I settled on this one but it felt like a toss-up. I purchased two after reading reviews that they were fragile and were likely to bend even pulling off small gears on 550 motors. sure enough I lined everything up perfectly and the aluminum tool inevitably started to bend and then eventually cracked. The gear never even budged. aluminum is not the tool for the job here. Don't waste your money. as other people have said you get which you pay for.

Junk
used once and didn't work to remove gear. the center pin pushed inside screw and the aluminum that pulls on gear just bent
