Gelish Soak-Off Gel Polish

So before I start, I want to let you know that you will need alcohol NOT acetone to wipe off the sticky layer that the top coat leaves behind. This does not mean it’s not curing, this is the inhibition layer. I use 99%. You will also need to cure this under a lamp, it’s not nail lacquer! This type of topcoat is great for doing natural nails because it is more flexible and shouldn’t crack under pressure. My nails are salon quality at home which is what I need since I do my own nails twice a month. Yes, it’s expensive but it’s Gelish.. there are plenty of other cheap options if you don’t like the price. I’m on day two of my manicure and I have no cracks. Usually by day two, my nails are cracked already so I’m hoping this will be the cure to my cracked nails problem.

I've owned a bottle of this mini Gelish foundation for a very long time, maybe close to 10 years and it's PHENOMINAL. It lasts almost 2 weeks every time I apply it, without fail, it settles beautifully, and I am hard on nails. I hardly ever get chipping and I usually remove the polish before things chip (between 10 & 14 days) because my nails have started to grow out and the length of my nails bothers me long before the polish needs replacing.So, I bought another bottle back in July 2021. Same brand and everything. It's not the same. I don't paint my nails super often so I waited until I was sure something is up before reviewing, but this new bottle (same polish, same brand, I don't skimp on my base and top coat brands) doesn't stick!! I can not get it to lat on my nails more than a few days. This current application was paid on Tuesday evening and by Thursday evening I could tell it wanted to chip and 4 nails peeled up Friday afternoon.I would really prefer that to not be happening with a brand of this quality. To confirm my suspicions I have done my nails with the older bottle from 8 or 9 years ago and wow, it works like a dream. Stays on for weeks, still!If I had wanted an inferior product I would have purchased a different brand, but I needed a replacement of Gel Foundation and I chose this brand because of the superior quality I had seen from my own use of the produce over years and years of application and use. I LOVE this stuff!! I have about it and have told loads of people to buy this base and top coat because the price is *worth it*!! What a bummer that the newer replacement bottle doesn't perform even 1/2 as well.Not gonna lie, this new bottle just isn't the same. Especially not when I consider that I've done my nails back to back with the new vs the old and the older bottle out performs every time. Feels like a waste of a purchase.

My nails shine all the time, I love that protects my nails, they grow a lot, and the ease of use. It's divine. I've been using it for more than 15 years and I won't change it for anything. I do my nails myself at home. Without a doubt, it is the best nail polish

So my pointy finger and ring finger have the matte finish on them. I would say yes it gives it a somewhat matte look but compared to my middle finger that has a normal top coat from this same brand, it is very different in finish. Now the picture is of nails that are a week old and I am a teacher so my hands and nails see some daily damage. This brand does make great quality gel polish and it is my go to brand. I have it 4 stars because of the look of the finish is not matte enough, there should be no shine at all for a matte finish.

This top coat is made for longevity and produces a beautiful shine. It’s a bit pricey for the size, but lasts a long time since it only requires a thin coat. I actually use it as a base + top coat and it works great for both. Highly recommend!

This gel foundation is thick! I’m used to runnier foundation and might have put too thick of a layer my first time using it. However, my nails still look great a week after applying. I think this will end up being my longest lasting manicure. I live in a dry climate and usually my Polish starts to peel after a week or so. This one is still holding strong. I’ve been doing my own gel Polish for years and have tried a variety of brands. This is my new favorite foundation. I will definitely be repurchasing.
