Fantastic coffee and tea
Had it's predecessor for a long time and when the hotplate stopped working it was a no brainer to replace it with another one, OK 2. My wife and I drink a fair amount of coffee and this makes a very nice pot, easy to change options on the strength, timer is handy (but hard to tell am or pm) and good keep warm function. However we both also enjoy a cup of tea, being adventurous I used this coffee machine and it works like a charm. Because the water passes over and through the tealeaves you don't get that over stewed taste like you do when the bag has sat in the pot for a while, using leaf tea or bags works without issue, the filter copes with it very well and it's very handy with the keep warm. So I bought a second, we now have tea and coffee machines :) As mentioned above the timer is a great feature to have, but, it's a 12 hour clock with no indication of am or pm that I can see, which is the only minus point we have found. These are very reliable hard wearing machines, we get through at least 1 pot of each every day, 2 - 3 at weekends so they do not get an easy life. Recommended. EDIT OK I'm tall and the display is set back in the case a little so unless I bend down quite a lot I can't see the very top of the screen, this is where the AM/PM display is. So even though I hadn't knocked off a star it really is a 10/10 product.

Morning gamechanger - cheap to buy and run and zero pod waste
This is such a good machine. My nespresso broke but the waste and hassle for recycling the pods was annoying me. I'm a single parent so there's nobody to bring me a coffee in the morning so the timer function is SO helpful, the smell of fresh coffee at 6am gets me up and out of bed even after a rubbish night sleep. The coffee tastes really good - strength setting 2 is pretty strong (for me) so if you want it even stronger you can go up to 3. You arent tied into buying pods so you can experiment with different brands of ground to suit your budget. And the best thing about is zero waste - no pods! You just wash the filter and jug and your done. Get one of those cheap hand held wizzy things if you want it frothy.

Not very easy to clean.
Makes coffee, not loud. Keeps warm for 20 mins. Basket is a bit of a bugger to clean so now I put paper filters in. Love the timer when I remember put water in it. No auto shut off so it will run if you forget water or coffee. Not very easy to clean.

Which Best Buy
I wanted to replace my cafetiere with a machine that would keep my coffee hot so I looked at the Which reviews, made a short list then searched online for my three shortlist models. This came first on a balance of customer reviews, functions and price plus it also looked great, delivery from Amazon was superfast and it was in use within the hour - very easy to use though I do agree the water filling area is not obvious unless you read the instructions first. I had also purchased the ultra thin filter baskets liners recommended by another reviewer and it does make disposing of the grounds very easy with no chance of any going into the sink. To my surprise I really did find that the coffee brewed with no bitter taste at all, very mellow in fact which is good as I like strong coffee. Coffee was nice and hot and the warming plate stays on for about 30 minutes and it is easy to extend the time by pressing the appropriate button. I did find out from the Which site that machines made after 2015 have to have a cut off to the keeping hot function for safety reasons - which does explain why there are no machines that stay on until you switch them off. All in all a very good, compact machine that I strongly recommend.

Looks great with my matching appliances, far better than pods, quick & easy to use
We had a little problem trying to workout where the water went at first but I think that's just because we've never had a coffee machine before. But now web got it it's in constant use several times a day. Doesn't take long to be ready. Web not used the timer in it yet because we use it so much really. Found some really good quality value for money filter coffee to go with it and definitely think this is a far better option rather than pods as they are so expensive. Over all a great but if not a tiny bit over priced when looking at the market but I wanted it to match my other appliances so this costs more sometimes.x

COFFEE UP
Timer works well. Easy to set up. Different strength settings are useful. Easy to fill and clean. Not all that noisy. Great for a bedroom. Stable no issues using it one handed. Coffee Flavour. It's a smooth flavour regardless of the beans used. You won't get the same flavour as a french press. I like it, makes a decent pot of coffee with a hot plate you can turn back on.

Moving from instant to filter - loving the coffee taste & smell.
OK, I'm a Nescafé instant & Coffee Mate kinda guy. I know I know, but I hydrate on that weak coffee throughout the day. Whatever. To this machine. It's compact and now sits on my right bedside table together with a 'SHARDOR Coffee Grinder Electric' and a bag of Lavazza 'red' beans (5/10 strength. 'Black' 9/10 beans on order to give them a try). I seem to have got the hand of the grinder, which is not a burr grinder but a blade, but the coffee does not taste bitter, yay! I live in a hard water area. ~330ppm of stuff in my tap water, so, as it's winter (lots of rain, too cold for many beasties), I take a scoop of rain water from my water butt and use that - 30ppm of 'stuff' in that water. I figure any small beasties will be boiled to death, and the order of magnitude less 'stuff' will lead to less potential clogging and scum in my beverage. Filling up the coffee reservoir is straightforward if a little bit fiddly tipping the last of the water from the carafe into the reservoir. I've only used the cupcake filter (no paper one added) and it works well. Might need to get a spare in case it breaks. I've not used the timer function yet, and the clock I'll eventually set correctly when I remember to unplug the machine at midday/midnight as I can't figure out how to change it once set. The coffee taste great when made, I'm very happy with it. Sends me to the little boys room after a couple of sips which is great for keeping me 'regular' :) Cleaning the cupcake filter & holder & carafe is easy by rinsing under a tap. So, while I'm defo no expert in coffees or machines, this machine is good enough for me and I do recommend.

Great machine
Love this machine. Have had it a few months now. The adjustments to strength allow for the perfect cup of coffee. The hot plate only operates for 25/30 mins after a brew, but I agree with this new standard, stops wastage of electricity. I actually use the hot plate to re-warm an hour later for a second cup. I think leaving coffee any longer than that on a hot plate and it’s tastes awful. I have the cream coloured machine and the only stain-age I’ve found is under the lid of the jug, and I believe I could get that off with a little bleach but it’s not a problem. I haven’t used the timer yet so can’t comment on that but it does look simple to use.
