Excellent product!
I purchased this product in order to organize my DirecTV equipment and make it look nicer since the installer basically left it all hanging from the rafters in my basement. I did not use any official Leviton "components" (or stand-offs) with this enclosure other than the Leviton outlet but rather screwed my DirecTV components directly to the inside using sheet metal screws. To make room behind it for the screws as well as bring the depth even with my circuit breaker panel, I first mounted 2x4s to the wall then mounted this enclosure to the 2x4s as this is how my circuit breaker panel was mounted. The idea being that if I ever finish the basement it will all be flush and even, although I could also just remount it between studs as it is optionally designed to do.I wasn't sure if this particular enclosure (28") would be too big for my needs, but after some measuring and planning I figured it should work pretty well, and after actually mounting everything into it, it did work out perfectly in my opinion. It wasn't too big, but big enough that everything isn't all crammed into it, which will make it easier to swap components if I ever need to.If anyone is considering using something like this to mount their DirecTV equipment into, then I'd recommend it. The equipment I mounted into it was:SWiM 16 module and power adapter (PI)2 8-way splittersDECA BB adapter (CCK) and power adapterWhile I didn't purchase it yet, I plan to eventually install the hinged cover on this unit. Initially, due to the position of the outlet placement at the bottom of this enclosure and the design of the DECA BB power adapter, there would be no way to install a cover because the power adapter stuck out the front a little. However, this problem was solved by using one of those 6-outlet adapters that plugs into a standard dual outlet. This allowed me to offset the BB power adapter towards the inside just enough to be able to mount a cover when I decide to do so.It's a bit pricey, but the quality is unmistakable. It really is a nice looking enclosure and I feel that it has many great uses for organizing just about any kind of TV/phone/internet/alarm components you could think of.

Right Size & Good Quality
The builder installed a 12" x 14" media enclosure in a closet in my new house, and my first project was replacing it.I needed an enclosure that was large enough to hold the DC converters, a cable modem, an active cable splitter, WiFi router, smart dimmer and fan hubs, and all of the ethernet and cable runs for my house.I selected this enclosure, and I am pleased with the quality and the size. It certainly met my expectations, though I think that the price is a little high, especially since I didn't want a door. Why do manufacturers even offer metal doors on media enclosures, when they know routers don't work well in Faraday cages?I measured, marked with a level and square, and cut a larger hole after removing the miniature enclosure. I was able to reuse the electrical box and install it inside this enclosure. The leaves on the side of the enclosure take up any excess space between the sides and the studs, and it doesn't move once installed. I applied joint compound and a little paint for a clean look.I also intalled a custom HD antenna and outlet next to the enclosure and wired it in to the splitter in the enclosure. Then I installed the equipment and tied everything down with pull ties. If I decide to put a door on the enclosure, I'll cut acrylic or Lexan and use thumb screws on top, but I prefer it open.

Perfect network cabinet
I have used several of these SMC cabinets around the house for different networking applications. They are sturdy powder coated steel, and super easy to install following the paper instructions or online video. I have used both the flush screw on cover that comes with the combo, as well as the premium vented cover. Both work perfect depending on your needs.Attached photos are of the 28" version. For mounting components, I prefer a combination of zipties, velcro strips, and 3M VHB or similar double sided tape. This is cheaper than using the leviton mounts, and I think better because you can put things exactly where you need them. For my needs, I also have no use for the expensive leviton branded components.I use a cyber power 750VA SL750U UPS and surge protector, which has more capacity at 1/3 the cost of the tripp lite AV550S (the only UPS that is actually marketed to this application).

Heavy Duty and Well Made
For those of you wanting to pull the trigger on an SMC cabinet - this one maybe expensive - however it is powder-coated steel and very well made. I am very satisfied with the purchase and it will pair up nicely with my 42" Leviton load center panel.

Very good media enclosure. All metal construction with different mounting options. If you put a WiFi modem it will cut down you signal.
