My Suzuki DF30 would trim up, but it would not trim down. Suzuki has two relays, one for the up and one for the down. My down relay which is on the bottom would just click so assuming that was the problem I purchased this relay. I swapped out the lower relay, but still the same thing, just a click. I was then informed that the relay you think is bad is actually the good one, and the the relay you think is good one is actually the bad one, if that makes any sense. I swapped out the upper relay (the one that raises the motor) and now the trim works as it should.

I got this on a good deal from Amazon warhouse deals - open box - for about $15 - took a chance and it worked. On my 2002 DF70 Suzuki 4-stroke the motor would go up but not down. Did some research and most common coause is bad relay. OEM is $100+, and aftermarket is about $50. The aftermarket ones have a shorter black wire than OEM, and the other wire is a different color than OEM, and the small colored paint marking on end of terminals were different colors. On my engine these two relays are located behind a small plastic cover on the top right side of engine. My service manual showed the "down" relay was the lower of the two. I took photos of both relays, wiring, etc.in case I had to refer back - but by undoing one wire at a time and routing them a little different I got everything hooked up right and it worked.

Works on my Suzuki DF 40. Couple time saving tips as soon as I installed the first one the opposite one popped and went bad. Order 2 and replace them both. Secondly pay close attention to wiring. Take a picture. Take note and wire them back the same way. The color coordinating does not follow so wire the way they were previously hooked up.
